Star Wars Visons is in my opinion some of the best things they've ever done.

Just saw the Adam Driver story. One of the biggest whiffs episode 9 did was killing Ben solo. Would have loved if it was left open ended with him going into exile yoda style for a return in the future. Ben coming back from the dead is silly but they could have written themselves out of that corner for a full movie of Adam driver glory and another stab at him being back in the universe. He was by far the most compelling part of the sequels. IMO his arc at the end of episode 8 had a lot of room to play and 9 dropped the ball so hard. Bummed a spiritual deep dive into redemption with Ben solo / Adam driver being the focus sounds rad.

Still banging the drum for Ahsoka. Supremely excited to see the deepening of mythology / folklore that got started in the first season.

They could do some actual myth on the idea of a dyad. It’s a concept in Joseph Campbell’s work that they were really ham fisted in the movie.

Fincher of all people deserves final cut. not surprised that they didn't give it to him (or pretty much anyone)

LucasFilm has no idea what to do or where to take the franchise. You have one of the most profitable and successful media franchises of all time and have only made projects for Disney+ the last 6 years while turning down great directors and stories while cancelling more films than you have produced.

I 100% agree. Same thing happened with Marvel they thought “the more, the better,” but most of it is pretty mediocre.

"Several people close to the production interpret the decision as politically motivated, coinciding with Iger’s efforts to position Bergman as his successor at Disney. The fallout from that decision appears to have extended beyond the project itself. Bergman’s handling of several high-profile initiatives has been criticized internally, and his standing within Disney’s succession plan has reportedly weakened."

corporate ass-kissing has really done a number on this franchise, huh? Iger's gotta go

article also claims the reports about Fincher's film were supposedly inaccurate - never got to any initial development stages beyond a loose concept that never gained internal traction, so final cut privileges weren't even considered

Maybe Disney will return to the Ben Solo film if we annoy them enough

It's funny because Star Wars YouTube put up a Ben Solo edit the day after that news dropped. I think they're trying to push the issue as well.

absolutely. takes some great creative risks without having to be held to canon. and the unique animation styles across the first two seasons (the first anime-centric and the second looking at global animation studios, with S3 going back to anime) are very well done
