I’m guessing we see some Thrawn in the Mando movie as setup and connective tissue with Ahsoka and the upcoming Filoni movie.

 

Also watched the new Rebuild the Galaxy series and didn’t find it nearly as good as the first season. Instead of fun mashups and changes, this season was mostly just sets and ships that are already on shelves and was much more of a go buy these now in stores. Forcing the new $1000 Death Star set for basically no reason into a kids show was so unnecessary and left a really sour taste in my mouth.

 

John is spitting fire. No Chance they ever remake the sequels, but this all sounds great. You can tell he wasn’t satisfied with the characters and their stories in the sequels and rightfully so.

 

Not sure I fully agree about Luke, but his own character was such a missed opportunity. The sequels not doing more with the Stormtrooper backstory and simply letting him take the backseat... I'd be mad as well.

take this with a grain of salt, but apparently a while back some test clips and documentation that were supposed to be for internal use only leaked via an automated YouTube upload showing that Disney has been restoring the theatrical cuts of the OT for future rerelease (probably the 50th anniversary). the Imgur links in this Reddit post have screencaps of these clips and the supporting documentation, and they honestly look pretty legit.

Also, please put out on 4k. I have been holding off on upgrading from my DVDs I have.

 

while i can attest to the current cuts looking great on 4K discs, i'm sure the original cuts would get the care they deserve from the Disney restoration team and thrown on a triple layer disc. lots of great reviews for their work on new discs for The Sound of Music and the OG Tron this year, so i'm intrigued by the prospect of a proper restoration on UHD

Begging Disney to let people do whatever the fuck they want with the license so we can get some actually creative and interesting ideas. The fanbase will never love anything, fuck dem kids.

 

Disney should be thankful Driver even wants to return to the franchise after TROS, much less developing a passion project for the IP.
