My take is that it might not be titled ‘Episode X,’ but it will be much more of a follow-up to Episode IX than any of the other currently planned films

They should just use Episode X in the title. Helps it sound more coherent

my initial assumption was that they'd abandon the episode numbering altogether (after saying they wouldn't do it anymore), but they'll probably return to it and just say it's a new "saga" (a la Marvel)

Is the take that it's an awesome mediation on being okay with failure and not letting it get in the way of success?

They said a lot of stuff that missed the point and also blamed The Last Jedi on The Rise of Skywalker being bad

I personally believe The Rise of Skywalker is bad because of The Rise of Skywalker

  20. My take now that we are far enough away from the sequel trilogy is that I have no desire to watch any of them. Last Jedi is the best of the three and I like it but it being sandwiched between an all time bad film and one that I just have no desire to revisit makes me not care about anything in that trilogy.

Somewhat agree in that I have no desire to re-watch the sequel trilogy ever again. I loved the force awakens when it released, but the 2 films that followed tanked my interest in those characters and their stories.

For disney Star Wars I prefer the Andor trilogy and Mandalorian (some of Ahsoka as well)

Then again, would RoS been as bad if TLJ had been planned out/followed up naturally from TFA? The video shows a few interviews where they show that story decisions were being made while RoS was being filmed, which wouldn't have happened if TLJ hadn't made things so difficult with its story choices.

Also, he gets at the idea that Luke's arc is fine on its own, but for Luke as a character didn't need it; for what Luke was shown as in the original trilogy, it didn't mesh with his decisions in TLJ and later.

TLJ did not make things difficult. Absurd.

I think Disney not caving to pressure from whiny fanboys’ backlash to The Last Jedi would’ve easily allowed room to write a coherent, thoughtful, and entertaining film instead of giving us a movie that felt focused-grouped from the lowest common denominator
