These fan edits of Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and I guess BoBF are pretty decent. Cuts some of the fluff out of the shows and stitches the episodes together to make a movie. The one thing I remember not liking on the Ahsoka edit, though, is removing the into to Sabine where she's riding on her bike down that long road to her/Ezra's hideout in the tower.

Hmm, I personally think the young Leia stuff is easily the weakest part of that show. Get rid of that and make the whole show about Kenobi protecting fugitive jedi and it becomes a much better series.

Her dynamic with Obiwan was something I never knew I needed to see.

Yeah I thought the young Leia stuff felt tonally off from the rest of the show.

Leia is probably the only person in the galaxy that would actually make Obiwan leave Tatooine. Protecting Luke is his only real goal in his life post ROTS. The only other person that could have made him do it is Satine, but she’s gone. He believes Luke is the chosen one, leaving to help random Jedi just doesn’t make sense for the character. Even if you make it so he helps Jedi that come to Tatooine, any interactions with Jedi would only draw attention to him and then to Luke. The way he treats the random jedi in the first episode makes total sense.

Like, sure, a story like that could be cool. And I am sure if they chose to go that route they’d find an at least acceptable reason to do it. But with what we currently have in canon, it would be odd.

looking back, i did enjoy the young Leia scenes quite a bit more than i originally thought i did, and while i think they might've worked better in a separate project, they do serve as a bright spot in a show i ultimately had mixed thoughts on. i hope the actress who plays her has a successful career down the line.

anyone have any experience with buying custom/unofficial sabers online? been contemplating it for a while but didn't really know which options would be worth investigating (re: quality, price, customizability, etc.)

I have a few neopixel ones, plus a bunch of Legacy ones from Disney. I've done a fair amount of research but can try to answer your questions on them. Or steer you to Reddit or Discord where there is a lively community with information

thanks for the reply. do you have any recommendations for places to buy semi-custom hilts/hilts with an interchangeable selection of pieces? i'm leaning towards something neopixel and would like some modicum of customizability with the hilt that isn't gonna cost nearly $1,000 (so not a full custom job), but the few options i've seen haven't been as impressive as i'd like or are way out of my price range/comfort zone re: self-assembly. some vendors that have shown promise (i.e. SaberForge) are sold out of a ton of pieces and seem to have trouble restocking them. there are others people have pointed to on Reddit that offer prebuilt/dropshipped or movie/show replica hilts, but don't offer much in the way of aesthetic customization other than blade color and light weathering, and are subject to quality control/customer experience issues (Ultrasabers is one people say to avoid). i'm not really attached to one particular saber from SW media, so i don't know if Disney's Legacy options are worth my time, and as cool of a concept as Savi's Workshop is at Galaxy's Edge, i don't really like their current part selection, and have heard that lots of people have had issues with build quality, inaccurate blade color, damaged blades and soundboards, etc. even if not, i'm curious if you have any advice or bad experiences with any particular vendors.

Just don’t use whatever company is cool with Star Wars Theory.

I have no experience with any non official ones.

It’s not his, but one of the saber companies partnered with him.

Custom sabers are a little trickier, as there aren't a ton of options that keep the prices down. Saberforge is the most popular probably by far. The custom saber shop sells a bunch of different machined parts that you can mix and match to create a custom saber and the pieces all thread in together. The problem with places like that is getting a core that fits correctly to hold all the electronics, because depending on what your saber looks like you may not be able to use a pre-built core. There are people that will custom design and 3d print cores, then install them for you but the prices start to get high going that route. Check out Solo Sabers on FB/IG for an example of the high quality work that is done.

As for character replica sabers there are a bunch of companies out there, the majority of which just drop-ship sabers from a couple different Chinese mass producers. The more budget friendly brands are LGT and TXQ, that have decent accuracy and quality but are not perfectly screen accurate. You can buy direct from them on AliExpress but their customer service is non-existent. There are companies that have good reputations that will sell them and provide good customer service. In the US, Darkwolf is known for LGT sabers and CCSabers is known for TXQ. 89Sabers is the next step up in quality and accuracy but that comes with increased prices too. CCSabers sells them as well. Then there are a few smaller custom type shops that sell highly screen accurate replicas that start to get in higher prices. KR Sabers (also known as The Saber Armory) has incredible looking saber kits you can buy, but you have to install all the electronics yourself.

The Disney sabers are a good introduction and are nice display pieces. You can get a saber and blade for ~$200, maybe less when they have sales. They tend to be on the chunkier side and the electronics quality is not very good. The Savi's you are really paying for the experience. It's a ~20minute immersive experience with character actors that pulls you into the universe and is a special thing to get to do. The quality of them is not great, but again it's a "custom" souvenir you get to take home from a cool experience.

And yes, avoid anything Star Wars Theory. I'm pretty sure he's just dropshipping one of the Chinese mass produced brands at a large markup anyways.

R rated is fine in my book, if done right. I don't think he'd do it right. lol

i think someone asked Filoni about R-rated projects, and he said they were open to them if done right and if they could still convey the same message as other projects. don't want Ryan anywhere near it though.

    Inside Hollywood’s Succession Wars

“Lucasfilm seems likely to follow that path in replacing Kennedy. Despite speculation about outside candidates, including former 20th Century head Emma Watts, insiders say the company seems most likely to promote from within. The current thinking is a scenario where chief creative officer Dave Filoni and production head Carrie Beck — both Lucasfilm vets — take co-head roles. Even as an arm of Disney, Lucasfilm remains, in many ways, a family business, and as a George Lucas protégé Filoni long has been considered a golden boy. But the knock against him is that he might be too steeped in Star Wars lore and risks steering a show into dense mythology that loses a broader audience. “He’s not the Andor guy, he’s the Ahsoka guy,” says one Disney insider. Beck, who joined the company in 2012, knows the ins and outs, but neither she nor Filoni has much film experience, which could be mitigated by Kennedy’s continued presence as a producer on certain Star Wars projects, ensuring quality control in the short term.”
