Been on a chronological rewatch with my partner and we’re just about to the second arc of Andor season 2. It’s her first time watching it all. (Controversial, I know.) We started with the OT, then watched Acolyte as it aired and went from there. It’s been cool seeing things through her eyes as we go.

I just started Andor season 2 after not paying any attention to Star Wars shows probably since season 1. Is anything else in the last couple of years really good?

I know there's The Acotlyte, Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, season 3 of The Mandalorian, at least one season of The Bad Batch i missed...

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Skeleton Crew was super fun and sweet. if you liked the other seasons of Bad Batch I can't see why you'd dislike the final one, it was a fantastic ending imo. only thing there that's actually bad is Mando s3

None of it is on the level of Andor.

I’d say Skeleton Crew is just simple and fun, with no need to worry about all the lore and baggage of everything that came before it.

Ahsoka is also a lot of fun, but has its flaws. Basically a live action Rebels continuation.

The Acolyte is a missed opportunity in my book.

Mando season 3 is meh at best.

Bad Batch is worth finishing if you watched the first two seasons.

It’s all good to great. Nothing Book of Boba Fett bad.

That is surely the worst of the live action show. As much as I was not a big fan of s3 Mando, it is better than that.

Skeleton Crew was solid. Overall, more light hearted but not too much to the point it’s only for kids or anything. People called it Goonies in space and they’re not wrong. Worth a watch.

The Acolyte was good. I think it had a lot of interesting ideas and cool set pieces. Some people flipped out about changing lore, but I would say they should reevaluate it from a certain point of view instead. There were a few things I didn’t love, but its positives outweigh those for me. Worth watching, but it’s a bummer since it very much sets up more story and it wasn’t renewed.

Ahsoka, I mostly really loved it. Big part of that is that I LOVED Rebels, so getting to continue its story in live action was quite the treat. I have some issues with it, but they don’t really affect my love of what I like. Worth watching overall, especially since some characters could show up in Mando movie/future seasons/Mandoverse movie.

The Bad Batch is great. Consistently solid. Definitely finish the show.

I really liked what I did watch of The Bad Batch. Will need to watch a recap though because it's been so long

I didn't hate The Book of Boba Fett but most of what I remember of it is Fennec Shand (big fan), Cad Bane making an appearance (very cool) and a bunch of teens with bikes (less cool)

If those are your feelings on Book of Boba Fett, I think you should definitely check out everything you’ve missed/listed. All of them are better and/or have cooler moments than that series.

  14. Skeleton Crew - Do you like the Goonies? If so very good
Ahsoka - Fine to interesting to tremendous and back down to fine again
The Acolyte - Fine/Interesting/Incels on the Internet suck
Season 3 of Mando - Couldn't tell you. Pretty sure I blocked it out of my mind. Like, genuinely can't remember one story beat of it that I can confidently say is Season 3 and not 2.
    Bad Batch - Very good.

Ezra being found again finally made the entire show worth it for me. And his new lightsaber emitter matching Kanan’s… love it. I pre ordered the black series of him from the show the second it dropped haha it’s a NEED.

was also a big fan of Ray Stevenson's performance in Ahsoka (RIP), so it's worth watching for that

I think Mando s3 probably gets more hate than it deserves, but it’s also pretty flawed. By the end of s2, I had kind of gotten tired of the formula of Mando does something cool and we cut to Grogu reacting (admittedly) adorably. Then to focus the finale on saving Grogu, again. While meeting a new character for a potential spin off each week to then move on to the next planet to meet another potential spin off, I mean clue for finding a Jedi. S2 is still good though, but it was a very refreshing feeling when Luke left with Grogu, theoretically allowing s3 to be quite different than what we had seen so far. Bringing Bo Katan and Ahsoka into live action was awesome. Teasing Thrawn and therefore Ezra had me HYPED.

But they undid the end of s2 in BOBF by reuniting Mando and Grogu almost immediately. Truly bizarre to me. I had envisioned a s3 that focused on Mandalore, which they rush through in like 2 episodes or so instead. S3 following two main stories of Grogu training and Mando with Bo doing Mandalore adventures and maybe some bounty hunting leading up to their reunion sounded so good to me. Instead that potential Mandalore extended story was rushed through right away.

But I guess they wanted time to have multiple episodes focused on celebrity guest of the week stories instead? And this was also a chance to not have Giddeon be the main antagonist again, but also had to immediately bring him back, because?

I had forgotten until right now that they spend an entire episode on Coruscant showing that the Republic already is treating former Imperials like they’re not people, dehumanizing them. And IIRC, it was all to confirm Giddeon was still into cloning? Which wasn’t a new development. Another weird choice.

I do like that Grogu did learn from his weekend getaway with CGI face/AI voice Luke. He was not almost helpless and finally was more of an active character. I think that was really needed at this point. Loved all the Bo stuff, Sackhoff is so good in the role.

I haven’t watched it since it came out due to how disappointing I was overall with the season. I should revisit it at some point before the movie next year. Maybe I’ll start a full show rewatch on May 4th next year.

Did not remember so many thoughts and feelings about Mando s3 haha

I still think the Obi Wan show was better than some people made it out to be. Some parts were flawed, but man when it got down to Obi vs Vader that shit delivered.

The young Leia stuff makes that show worth it alone. I do love me a dramatic Vader. Would have made a much stronger movie.
