Keep Dave Filoni so far away from that job

 

My vote would be Jon Favreau

 

Need some new blood. Most of these people are too involved with Star Wars.

 

I agree. I think Filoni should be very high up and involved as almost the Chief Lore Officer, but bring in someone who knows how to project manage lol

 

Absolutely wild that they thought of Abrams.

 

You'd think after the insiders said the job isn't creative that more time would be spent discussing people that weren't creatives though.

 

Feige has to focus on the X-Men. He won’t be sitting in the Lucasfilm chair

 

I kind of thought this was the way they’d go too. Promote someone from the business side and say all creative decisions go through Filoni.

 

They refute every single person on that list. I feel like people aren't reading that. None of these options are viable.

 

definitely bring in an outsider - one that'll allow some risk-taking. keep Filoni in a creative position, but bring someone else on to assist in those decisions because one could argue his and Kennedy's hesitancy led to the constant state of mixed reception and delayed projects we're in now (even if there were some good ones along the way)

idk the the exact extent that Filoni was hesitant (maybe hesitant isn't the word i should've used), but i think it's a little bit of a given in light of the tweet above and the quality and quantity of projects that have been released (compared to what's been announced).

iirc this was a discussion point from The Acolyte's writers when it aired that Filoni's comments during the scriptwriting process would lead to major tonal changes for the sake of not wanting to drive audiences away, leaving some creatives pissed. maybe that's him thinking of his superiors and not his explicit creative choices, but i know there's some anti-Filoni sentiment out there re: his writing style, so who knows?

either way, if the state we're in now is partially due to the existing structure of Lucasfilm, perhaps getting someone else at the table might lead to a more well-received product

 

Keep Filoni in creative roles as much as possible.

 

I had this though, but there’s surely no way in hell he wants to work for someone else and play in the the sandbox others have been in for the last 10 years.

 

He's also 80 years old...

 

If for some reason they wanted Lucas, it would be for a role similar to what Filoni has now. But there’s no way he’d ever come back. He sold it for a reason.

 

yeah the speed at which new projects would release would slow down immensely if he came back - a big reason he sold the company to begin with

Also I’m taking it no one read the part where they stated multiple times in the article that it is not a creative position. Whoever takes it would not be playing in someone else’s sandbox, they’d be making the company run.
