That’s already being debunked by several Star Wars scoopers. They aren’t expected to start shooting before Summer.

 

If they shoot it next year then a December 2025 release seems likely

Looks to me like they announced May 2026, December 2026, and December 2027 for the the Rey movie, Mangold movie, and Filoni movie. But didn’t specify which is which. I guess I just assumed if that’s the first to film, it would have the earliest date.

Oh boy.. some rumors are gaining traction that Mando season 4 is going theatrical and could get the May 2026 date.

 

I refuse to believe that Lucasfilm is that stupid

 

I mean, I’ll take a good movie over the last season. Lose all the cameos. Have a focused story.

It could be cool. Although, 2026 is a ways away.

Not only have they announced The Mando and Grogu movie, but the bottom of the press release confirms that Filoni is developing season 2 of Ahsoka

 

The planned movies still feel a little weird. So now we have Mando & Grogu movie, the Mandoverse crossover movie, Episode 10, and an early Jedi movie from Mangold. I'd be willing to bet big money the Mangold early Jedi one gets canned.

 

Caught up on the Dark Droids comic event and I really wish they would just stop with the big crossovers as this was another dud right after the Crimson Dawn stuff went on way too long. At this point I wish they’d just focus in on telling good stories within each comic. It’s no coincidence that the High Republic ones have been consistently the best of the bunch because they are telling the story of the comic characters and while it weaves into the overall tapestry, it is first and foremost its own thing.

 

Personally don't want either of them anywhere near star wars so glad to see its still not happening. But I'm curious what that means for the fate of Mangold's movie since his would be a very similar premise.

 

Isn't that basically what Mangold's movie is supposed to be?

 

I’m assuming what they should have said was, “they didn’t want to do that WITH US.”
