Ahh my bad. I didn’t know anybody ever confirmed it. I thought it was just one of the projects the trades reported on and it was just never denied

True, but there's a whole slate of other films that were announced and then cancelled.

 

But then the fanbase will complain that nothing is being announced.

 

I don’t know about a whole slate. Boba Fett and Rogue Squadron were the only movies actually announced and then cancelled. Weiss & Benioff were hired to make a trilogy that we don’t know ever actually amounted to anything before they were let go or left for Netflix. And again, Feige’s movie may have been confirmed by Alan Horn, but it was never actually announced.

I am VERY happy the Weiss/Benioff trilogy was cancelled or that they "left" for Netflix. They would've screwed it up so bad. Lost all faith in them as filmmakers after they drove GOT into the ground.

 

There was also the Rian Johnson movie (or trilogy?) that was announced and has been put on hold indefinitely. Would love to see an original story in the Star Wars universe from him.

The only announced movie I have confidence in happening is the recent sequel with Rey, and the supposed Filoni movie that ties the Mando/Ahsoka/Rebels stories. But I could also see that turning into a show too

 

Fett was never announced. They did confirm it was a thing after it was canned though.

 

They did. You can find it in the Stars Wars Show back when Andi and Anthony were hosting. I saw the clip recently on Twitter when Kathleen tried to say it was never announced.

 

They were talking about the news that the press reported, it wasn’t an announcement.

 

I don't think Feige not making a SW movie is a big loss tbh

Damn. I was really excited for that one. The recent Jedi series games have been decent, but I really wanted that single-player RPG experience again.

Cool. I haven’t liked everything he has done, but I love most of it. And Rebels alone is up there as one of my favorite Star Wars things with some all time favorite SW characters and awesome moments.

 

I guess its better than Kennedy if it means he's taking over her position. I like the direction he pushes things sometimes, but I just dont think the writing on his live action stuff has been stellar by any means so I have mixed feelings on this.
