Let's be honest.. an old woman Rey/Grogu leading a new Jedi Order is definitely happening at some point down the line.

I've honestly settled for being one of those people that kind of disregards the ST unfortunately. It really sucks because I love TLJ but TROS was just so franchise-ruiningly bad (and I've also kind of grown to hate the idea that the ST did where this random other Empire rose up out of nowhere and undid everything the characters in the OT did but that's a personal annoyance)

I kind of disregard the sequels as well and view them as like an alternate timeline. The Skywalker Saga had a fitting end in Return of the Jedi.

The Skywalker saga ends with The Last Jedi for me.

Anyone know if you need to have seen all of Clone Wars and Rebels to watch the new Tales of the Jedi, or if a basic understanding of the two characters is enough?

Just finished it. There are definitely connections to Clone Wars and I think it would enhance the experience, but I don't feel like it's completely required.

Loved the Dooku episodes of Tales of the Jedi, lukewarm on the Ahsoka ones. Filoni retconning the Ahsoka novel didn’t bother me with season 7 because that was such a small part of the book, but it’s wild that he would retcon the literal climax and make it a lesser version. I get that she’s his character, but you still need to play nice in the sandbox with everyone else.

man, the Yaddle episode of this was so good.

big Blade Runner vibes from the first half.

looks like there’s some room for interpretation on whether or not Ahsoka was retconned:

I thought the first episode of Tales with baby Ahsoka was absolutely pointless but the rest of them were fantastic, especially the Dooku ones

Agreed. From his POV, it makes sense why he would leave the Jedi.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

so I had absolutely no idea what Tales was or that it had already come out until tonight. strange that it (seemed to me) was hardly advertised and just dropped midway through Andor's run

especially cos y'know it's great! burned through in just over an hour and honestly enjoyed every episode. was like having six surprise Clone Wars shorts dropped on me at once, I'm not against it! Filoni is unerringly good at shading depth in to characters who didn't have any, can't believe he's actually got me out here feeling bad for Dooku

The baby Ashoka thing was more about the vibes than anything and they were immaculate. Princess Mononoke vibes.

i’m assuming the reason they ran baby Ashoka first, all three Dooku’s, and then grown Ahsoka was to keep things all chronological? would have preferred if they either did each of their stories together in sequence or had alternated Ahsoka/Dooku throughout.

Pretty sure the first Dooku episode is chronologically before the first Ahsoka one. Unless Qui-Gon ages drastically in like 15 years from that episode.

He is a member of the Fandom Menace, an alt-right fandom movement and should not be taken seriously. Watch Star Wars Explained, watch Pink Milk (queer Star Wars talk), listen to the ForceCenter Podcast, watch the Kinda Funny screencast which features Anthony Carboni, watch any number of other things than SW Theory. He's a bad-faith actor with a toxic fanbase and it's exasperating to see him here.

yeah, was never a fan of SW Theory when his videos were suggested by youtube.

    Star Wars Explained is great.

The Damon’s are great people from all accounts. And they love Motion City Soundtrack. They know what’s up.

Star Wars Explained is the best. Their very knowledgeable on the whole universe, including comic books, video games, tie in novels, etc.

They can also be critical without being toxic. I remember they had some valid criticism of TLJ when it came out. And even though I disagreed with some, it never came across as the whiney and entitled like other influential people in the fandom like SWT.
