  2. Was watching the last Jedi earlier and I nominate the clothes iron shot the coolest shot in star wars. Even over the holdo maneuver.

They wasted so much talent with him and John Boyega

  7. Just sad that he sees it as a prison sentence. Wonder if it was the whole trilogy or if it was just rise of Skywalker.

I'm not plugged into marvel but I feel like you don't hear actors complain about that experience.

  8. Oh man everyone here would hate this book. 20 pages in and it's just been rey and her parents so far. Disney doubling down on TROS essentially lol.

Is it the one where they finally name the parents and imply that Rey is good with tech because of her mom and that’s because of her genes? Cause fuck that shit into the ground.

I didn't take the passage talking about how good her mother is at tech as any type of implication for why Rey is good with it. Actually quite enjoyed that book. Has some great Luke and Lando stuff.

It is heavily implied it’s purely genetics that explains their skill. She’s powerful in the force? Yea, but only because of her Palpatine blood. She’s good with tech and a good pilot? Her grandmother mysteriously knew it and somehow her daughter (Rey’s mom) has it, too. Magically, Rey has that, too. But was not raised by her mother. Wonder how she learned all that then and has that inclination and natural insight? They are doubling down on crediting everything that makes Rey, Rey, is her blood. It’s super gross and absolutely baffling they double downed on it.

The moral of the story is that we are all, horribly, against our will, our parents.

So, somehow the plot details and even clips from all 6 episodes of Tales of the Jedi have leaked. We don’t even have a release date for it yet. So someone really fucked up. I chose not to read or watch anything. But beware of spoilers, I guess.

My wife and I have recently started our son on Star Wars (watching the Harmy edits and we’re using our projector with a big screen because this is an event). Tonight was Empire and I absolutely had to get this moment on video.

I immediately thought about how George Lucas asked child psychologists what the reaction would be from younger audiences and was told that children 12 and under would refuse to believe it’s true and that he’d need to confirm it later. I’ve seen videos on YouTube of other parents getting their kids’ reactions and almost every time they ask some variation of “what?” and “is that true?”

After the movie was over my son kept asking us “is that true though? Is Darth Vader really his dad?”

Just so interesting how it endures across generations.

LEGO Summer Special was fun, but I’m really sick of all of the “synergy” forcing Galactic Star Cruiser into everything. I don’t need a Lego special aimed at kids trying to get me to spend $5000 on a gimmick. The comics and novels have been pushing it recently too and it’s super annoying.

I can’t decide if I am gonna go to that. On one hand, it’s Star Wars on the big screen and it’s been a minute. On the other hand, it’s middle of the pack for both Disney and overall.

I could be down. I never saw it in IMAX, so it could be cool. I've grown to appreciate Rogue One more as time has gone on.

I mean, Star Wars in imax is always a good thing, IMO. But I have to drive a little for this theater and I can’t use my pass, so I’ll be paying full price. Maybe I’ll sweet talk my mom into paying for it for my birthday that’s the following week.
