I feel like only the original trilogy wouldn't have a generally accepted ranking.

 

The Phantom Menace is a fun watch. Qui-Gon, pod racing, and Duel of the Fates are great to just wind down to. Totally better than Rise.

 

Revenge of the Sith > Phantom Menace > Attack of the Clones
Return of the Jedi > Empire Strikes Back > New Hope
Last Jedi > Force Awakens > Rise of Skywalker

I know Empire Strikes Back is probably the preferred OG trilogy, but Return of the Jedi just edges it out for me, but they're pretty even.

 

Revenge used to be my least favorite because of how hard it botched Anakin's turn, but I've come around to it having some redeeming qualities.

and they never finished the sequel trilogy. It’s wild. I was mad at first but 8 did leave things off in a decent spot.

How would everyone rank the trilogies? Obviously the OT will be top for most, if not all, but what about the PT and ST? I feel like the sequels have higher highs than the prequels, but much lower lows.

OT > PT > ST is how I'm feeling at the moment.

I'd probably still go OT > ST > PT but it's tough.

2/3 sequels are legit good movies with an all time dud at the end. The prequels are more cohesive, but all bad so I gotta go with the one I can at enjoy the most.

 

I’ve definitely cooled on the ST (after TROS, how could you not?), but I still put them over the PT.

Yea, I’d say 7 and 8 are strong enough to pull it ahead of the PT.

 

I’ll have to think about this. I honestly might put Rogue One, Mandalorian, Clone Wars, and Rebels above all of the trilogy movies.

 

Which is funny because they all only work because of the stories in the core trilogies. But I prefer the storytelling and characters in them.

 

None of the shows overall top Empire or New Hope for me (though individual episodes or story arcs are in that tier). But I would put Rebels and Clone Wars in the same tier as TLJ, which is to say there are definitely issues and bumps in the road but the highs are incredibly high and it comes together beautifully in the end.

 

I think I’m weird where it something achieves a certain high, I give it credit for being that good. Like it’s not a peak but just “yep, you maxed out at 10/10 you’re great.”

Edit: Like there are some REAL lows in Clone Wars but who cares because the highs are out of this world so that's what I give it credit for lol

 

It’s easier to smudge over missteps and lulls in a tv series than a single movie for me.

But what about the animated Clone Wars movie? If that Ewok shit gets a spot, it deserves one too.
