Love that shelfing situation

 

Just checked my orders page on Amazon and like the Kylo Ren trade, looks like all the Star Wars trades have been delayed 4-5 months.

 

Yeah, the whole comic book industry was really disrupted by the pandemic (as, y'know, most things were). A couple months of Diamond, the distribution company that has a monopoly on the "direct market" (comic shops, monthly comics), being shut down. Companies slowly getting things going again in a way that doesn't overwhelm shops w/ product. All sorts of cash flow between Diamond, publishers, & shops being disrupted.

There was one with a cruiser a few years back from Rebels. I have it.

 

Yeah, that's the only set she ever came in so they're crazy expensive. Buying her by herself runs like $100+

 

Damn! I got it for like $40 because I got it half off a clearance price. Glad I bought it when I did. Wow. That’s wild.

 

The set is like $350 because people buy it just for the minifigs.

Dr. Aphra, Rise of Kylo Ren, and the most recent Darth Vader run by Charles Soule.

 

Doctor Aphra is a really cool character who originated in the comics (Kieron Gillen's Darth Vader series, to be specific), so that seems like a good route to follow. Like, might as well start w/ a character who was created for that medium, not adapted from elsewhere, right?

Which, I guess then you gotta choose between diving right into her solo title, or starting w/ that Darth Vader series by Gillen & Salvador Larroca (where she has her debut), which takes place between IV & V. I really dug what I've read so far of the Vader series, though when Larroca draws human actor likenesses, it gets really wonky. You could probably go either route.

Yoda would be a lot more interesting to me if I got to see him spend some serious time struggling with the fact that his arrogance lead to the empire.

Ezra’s arc is so good. I just finished Rebels again. So freaking good.

 

Reading these full rankings got me feisty. The Mandalorian over Ahsoka?? The first stormtrooper to bang his head over Ezra? BD-1 being outside of the top 2 is offensive. A porg over the actual embodiment of the force? GRRR
