Yeah Snyder didn’t really go off the rails until after 300, which knew what it was and who it was for even if I’m sure I wouldn’t be as into it now as I was when I was 14

I prefer more Snyder films probably. Dawn of the Dead is good. Man of Steel is decent.

The behind the scenes doc for this was pretty great. At the very least, everyone working on this seemed to generally care about Star Wars and their craft (though I know it's obviously edited to come off that way). It's always crazy to me just how much work goes into making these films.

he must have liked it enough, or at least liked working with the Wachowskis, since he helped on a few Sense8 episodes and is writing Matrix 4 with them.

Of course they picked May 4th, lol. Such easy, obvious marketing.

Not that it matters to me, as someone w/out Disney+ w/out interest in revisiting my new clear least favorite Star Wars film, but good for those who have Disney + & wanna revisit it w/out spending money.

  9. I'm kind of looking forward to watching it again. The first time I saw it was in a weird underground theater in London over my honeymoon in December. It was just a weird theater experience in general, haha, so I'm looking forward to watching it in the comfort of my own home now. I remember hating the first third of the movie, especially, though.

I’ll watch it again at some point I’m sure, just out of curiosity to see if I hate it more/less/the same

it is wild how many people rewatch Star Wars movies they already know they don't like.

  14. lol yeah, I probably would skip it. I could see watching it if it was on tv and I was bored, like I do with the prequels, but i'd rather watch stuff I like. I just re-kicked rebels while waiting for more clone wars.

Star Wars is funny like that. It's the only series of films where I will actively rewatch the ones I know I don't like. I'm already planning a full saga rewatch with this included. It's truly very silly haha.

The prequels have been a little easier for me to rewatch now that I've seen all of The Clone Wars series. I don't necessarily think the movies are better, but I think I just understand that era a little more now so it's more tolerable to watch them all. haha. Still, rewatching them, I'm just like "Ugh. Why am I doing this again?"

This last arc makes me want to watch Revenge of the Sith again. And I constantly go back and forth on whether that's the worst one or not haha.

Revenge is so close in (lack of) quality to Attack for me that I almost wonder if I actually like more about Attack than Revenge, lol. It’s just so symptomatic of everything in Star Wars fandom that I find alienating & unappealing. It’s almost a prototype for the kind of soulless, lifeless action that reached its grotesque culmination in Rise.

When they talk about it they make it sound like it is some sort of pilgrimage.
