hold up if they emphasize that this concludes the whole skywalker saga then I gotta go back and watch the prequels again first so I can remember the story

    episode 3 is on TNT

the scene where Windu and 3 other Jedi fight Palpy... Palpy kills the 3 Jedi up front all right in the doorway... queue Anakin literally walking through that same doorway... to decide the crux of the plot’s issue of who between Palpy and Windu is the belligerent... AND THE BODIES ARE NO LONGER LYING THERE

There is a maximum height clause. It’s in those books Yoda tried to destroy.

The prequels are honestly pretty bad but I still enjoy the hell out of them. A lot of fun stuff in the mix and a handful of genuinely powerful moments sprinkled throughout. My enjoyment goes down in descending order as they go on though.

The Rise of Skywalker is really fucking bad and I did not enjoy it at all. It actively hurt my brain to try and watch it. The closest thing I can compare it to is Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy where I probably knew way too much about the production beforehand and really all I can see while trying to watch it are the seams. And there are a lot of fucking seams.

Before Trevorrow's script leaked what I had been doing was just ignoring most of the major plot points of TROS - stuff like Palpatine being alive, Rey being related to him, etc. - and just imagining that some of the fun action-y stuff that the characters did in this flick was just random adventures that took place between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and then the story concluded with TLJ for me. Trevorrow's script is far from perfect but I at least feel like he made an actual attempt to finish telling the story that was started in TFA and cont'd with TLJ. I honestly do not think JJ Abrams even tried to do that and instead just tried to make a fast-paced and fun STAR WAR MOVIE! that was going to earn a shitload of money at the box office. Which is fine, I guess. Disappointing to me, but fine. I didn't pay for it.

Just thinking about Trevorrow's leaked script works for me as a completion to this trilogy whenever I watch TFA and TLJ again, which I probably will do a lot because both are great.

  14. I guess I just don't understand how Disney and lucasfilm could miss so badly.

I'm not a marvel person but it seems most fans were satisfied with endgame. Why couldn't Disney figure this out.

Disney are cowards and got scared by some backlash from TLJ.

Star Wars is my favorite thing ever but I will cherish my theater experience for Endgame til the day I die whereas I immediately left the theater after TROS and went to work lol. What a bummer.

Marvel always stays in the milquetoast “art-by-committee” please everyone middle of the road area. Star Wars took a risk and did TLJ and then wussed out and went the Marvel route trying to please everyone and failed.

Honestly it was pretty risky to release that pile of shit in theaters.

The difference with Marvel is they allow things to build up and not be rushed in order for the story to be cathartic while pleasing the fans at the same time. What Disney did with Star Wars was the opposite.

Either you or me are misunderstanding what Light is referring to, so maybe there some confusion there. Either way, your post was unnecessarily aggressive and rude.

Um, I was referring to TROS. The previous poster said Disney was playing it safe and And I joked that it was actually a risk to release such a piece of crap. Sorry if that wasn’t clear? I’ve dunked on this movie throughout the thread AND posted that I’ve come around to TLJ quite a bit. Don’t know what your problem is but you may want to jump on Twitter so you can vent your anger there.
