You might be right when it comes to my critical view of this film lol I’ll give you that

 

If you are unwilling to engage on all levels of the film, why should anyone care about what you think about it?

how are the people constantly discussing and reading about this movie and then sharing various points, both large and small, merely reaching?

you admit you aren’t fully engaging on the discussions and then paint a wide picture of us reaching which has been shown as not being factual. What’s the point of this?

 

I’m willing to engage on any level of the film, there’s just a line to where some of it means less to me. Also no one needs to care what I think. Imo it’s just interesting to hear other perspectives. As for the reaching, which I stated earlier to Tim, is imo when people take the small things that have nothing to do with story but use it as more leverage to hate the film. As for the point of this? I like hearing the different perspectives from people on this site.

 

Small things can be symptomatic of larger issues. And not everyone bringing up a "small" issue is treating it with the same intensity as a "big" one. But often with bad movies, the more you think about them, the more they completely fall apart and you realize just how many things add up to such a complete wreck.

 

You’re right. I 100% agree small things can be a part of a massive misstep for a film.

 

Why do you decide which aspects are lesser? If you merely disregard these “lesser” points you aren’t really listening to their perspective. You’re just judging them.

I’m not saying some opinions shouldn’t be judged. in fact, I’d argue the opposite. So don’t take that as any real attack on your character.

 

I would say something like Finn wanting good tell Rey he was force sensitive while dying. Weird flex, yeah it is, but I wouldn’t consider it another reason the film is bad. I just view it as a small complain that didn’t have a huge effect on the story.

I don’t take it as an attack lol you’re fine. I do listen to the person’s complete perspective, I just won’t reply directly on that opinion and focus on the others. Mostly because I don’t feel like my opinion on something I consider small to be important enough to bring up.

 

It doesn't have any effect because it's pointless and didn't need to be in there, like many, many, other things JJ shoehorned in this film, such as Dom Managhan, the dagger nonsense, Lando in general, Zorri Bliss, etc
