Yeah there's no way I'd ever put Rogue One above TLJ, even though I enjoyed it.

 

I enjoyed the action of Rogue One above all the Disney movies. The last half of that movie was everything I loved about the Space/Land battle format that's so Star Wars.

 

I am seeing rumblings on Twitter that somehow the force dyad and the rule of two are linked in some way. Which, makes no sense. I guess I really need to just buy the visual dictionary where apparently this idea is coming from.

 

I’m not sure how I would rank the films but Rogue One and TLJ are the two films I have enjoyed most recently through rewatches.

Disney’s merchandizing department like:

 

I know every single last detail cannot possibly make it into the movie, but it sure sounds like a whole lot of leaning on The Visual Dictionary and other supplemental materials to explain things.....

 

The finale of RO dwarfs the finale of the skywaker saga which makes no sense to me. It should have felt like endgame and it just didn’t. Maybe seeing it in a theatre would have given me that feeling but TROS just fell flat for me even though I enjoyed myself watching it.

 

Solo had cool set designs but man it was pretty boring

 

I wasn’t bored. It wasn’t the best or anything. And at least, Unlike TROS, it only had 1 moment where I was stunned with how dumb a moment was.

 

What moment was this?

 

The elements of Lord & Miller that Solo held onto were more entertaining to me than anything in this movie but I can’t bring myself to care all that much about delineating which of the mediocre pile of non-TLJ Disney Star Wars movies is better than the other

 

That’s not true, Rogue One isn’t great but has some good stuff. It’s better than the other non-TLJ movies.

 

When he got his name. So so dumb. But that was the one big one for Solo. I found multiple moments like that in TROS.

 

I still think putting any prequel ahead of this is insane

 

The Last Jedi is my #3.

Rogue One is my #5.

This has soured my feelings on The Force Awakens enough that I think it’s now my #7, below the charming mess that is The Phantom Menace, & I will not apologize for that.

I really don’t like Solo.

This is obviously awful.

 

I went into solo with such low expectations that I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
