i think we knew about R1 before TFA, no?

I think it will be a while before we hear about new movies. if the next slotted release is 2022, id say no sooner than maybe spring 2021, unless casting info gets leaked/released prior to.

 

I'm not a fan of the series and I came into watching any of the Star Wars films far later than most so I look at the series from more of an outsider viewpoint but seems I am not alone in my ranking of the latest films.

 

I remember being SO in love with the original RO teaser with the lone tie fighter flying thru a lush canyon and the camera tilts up as it follows the fighter and you see the Death Star up in the atmosphere. Ugh it was so good and it was never released AFAIK. I think they showed it at Star Wars days or d23 or something. Here’s a very bad bootleg of it.

 

Rouge One is my favorite of the new ones as well, and up there close to my favorite overall.

I also tend to like Episode 1 more than most because I generally don’t let Jar Jar annoy me, really liked Qui-Gon as a character, and thought Darth Maul/that saber duel was fantastic. Most people put Sith above it but I waiver on that. The Anakin/Padmé wooden dialogue hurts Sith more for me than Jar Jar hurts Phantom.

there’s also a lot of nostalgia there as I was 11/12 when Phantom came out and I just fondly remember the extreme hype

 

Speaking of Rogue One why wasn't she Rey's mom

 

Rogue One is awesome, but I think Star Wars just connects to me more when it has more of an adventure or mystical feel (or both). RO leans into the gritty side of the universe and it works really well, but the others bring out my inner child more.

 

As far as the Disney movies go

TFA>TLJ>>Solo>RO>>>>>TROS

 

This is so awesome. This is the exact feeling and vibe I love so much about Rogue One, and I'm pretty sure it's exactly what all the reshoots and rewrites worked so hard to change.

 

I’m trying to remember: did force ghost look have a metal hand? I think he did - doesn’t that seem weird?

 

I can’t remember if you see it when he walks out of the fire, but it’s covered by his robes when he is talking to Rey and when he lifts the X-Wing.

 

I could swear he had it when he catches the lightsaber. Just seemed odd if I’m remembering it correctly. Like Anakin, you think he would be “restored”.

It’s wild that Disney has two movies (Dark Phoenix and TROS) this year that featured main characters fighting over who gets to commandeer an aircraft with their force powers and intense stares.
