    Someday I’ll find me Prestigious

Saw it a second time tonight, after meandering between “eh” and “okay” after seeing it opening night...

Absolutely loved it. My core issues with the pacing still stand, but I just focused on the characters I love, and the lack of breathing room in the editing that I really felt in the first viewing didn’t stand out nearly as much because I wasn’t trying to keep up, I was just enjoying.

    Love The Force Awakens.

The Last Jedi is my favorite Star Wars film.

The Rise of Skywalker is great, and would have been even better had they just added some room for scenes (even several shots) to breathe.

This was a lot of fun. I was a little...jarred?by the pace of this. It felt like a lot was happening constantly and fast. I would have liked more time with palpatine, as well as hoping we would get more time with Luke, another Yoda appearance, and more dialogue between Kylo and Rey. Not sure why, I just would have enjoyed them talking even more than they did.

also felt like things just got rushed at times. Oh look, Hux is the spy! Oh look, he’s dead! I wanted that fleshed our a little more. Also felt like Lando was weirdly shoehorned in and i wasn’t sure what that was at the end, was he hitting on that girl or insinuating he was related to her? Lol

I def wanna know which Jedi said which lines, and honestly would have taken a force ghost appearance from a lot of them instead of just the voice over. Give me that full fan service, baby. Fuck it, wouldn’t have minded Sidious’s face lighting up with quick visions of Maul/Dooku/Vader while were at. Gimmie all dat fan service. Would have liked to know more about Palpatine/the Sith in general considering they had this secret hole planet with thousands of followers apparently.

I’m guessing Finn wanted to tell Rey he was force sensitive, but also I guess it coulda been the generic I like you thing as well.He didn’t seem shy about letting other people know he could “feel” things, but def probably would have been embarrassed to admit he liked Rey in front of Poe.

I have lots of other thoughts but honestly forget a lot of it right now.

I haven’t really nerded out on Star Wars world building since I was like 12, but IIRC, this is how it worked/works. However, some species (like Yoda’s for example) tend to be more prone to be force sensitive, and relation to other force sensitive beings also increases your chances.
Again, I’m saying I think because I only kind of remember reading about this shit when i was younger haha. But I guess me remembering this is part of why I’m not as seemingly as angry as everyone in this thread appears to be about the Palpatine connection? Idk. I’m just not as bothered by the fact that certain “bloodlines” for lack of a better word tend to be stronger users of the Force.

I do really want to know more about Sheev now...it’s sort of implied either he or Darth Plagueis either accidentally or intentionally created Anakin. So now I’m wondering if his son/daughter was another Force-created being that ended up having a kid of his/her own and that’s why Rey is so powerful (much like Luke being the offspring of a force created being)

I don’t believe I’m doing any mental gymnastics to like the film. I see most people’s complaints as perfectly valid.

Everybody I know in my social circle absolutely loved it. I was weirded out that I was the only one who didn’t like it after the first viewing. Like, literally everyone I’ve talked to in person has been gushing about how amazing it is.

I wouldn’t call it amazing by any means. Again, I see it’s flaws and choose to enjoy it for what it is.

The Last Jedi will probably be my favorite for the rest of my life.

I just can't find myself enjoying this on future viewings, I'm only going to be even more annoyed by everything. There's no middle ground in the plot, everything is either telegraphed from 1,000 miles away (Ben getting the saber from Rey to fight the Knights is one that stood out to me, that scene would have been better with a little surprise to it) or it just happens (like the Avengers fleet showing up after Snap bites it) and maybe knowing that's all coming would soften the blow but I feel like it'd just be frustrating. Who knows? I'm not spending another dime on it, that's for sure.

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

This was alright, about as good as The Force Awakens which was also underwhelming but ultimately serviceable while The Last Jedi is just about the best of the three while Rogue One is far better than the trilogy as a whole.

Isn't it crazy that Finn goes from stormtrooper in 34 ABY to a general of the resistance in 35ABY that is quite a meteoric rise.

the theory is he manipulated the force at a cellular level to create a life, much like how Anakin is an “immaculate conception”. I guess genetically it’s not his kid but still created by him via the force? And babies created by the force are very powerful as far as we know, as are their offspring

yeah, i agree with this. i've seen posts in here people saying they can't believe anyone could have fun with this, which i think is a crazy thing to say, considering how different everyones tastes, opinions, and reasons for seeing movies in general are. i do think there are some mental gymnastics going on though, but mostly by people who believe in their heart that this was a bad film but dont want to admit to themselves that they didnt actually like a SW movie lol

Is this a weird take? I would definitely rank these Rogue One > TLJ > TFA = TROS

I think it's pretty accurate. I go back and forth on RO or TLJ being my favorite of the new movies, but both are miles better than TFA and TROS.

I think Rogue One tells a much tighter story from start to finish, and the space battle at the end is probably my favorite space battle, but the throne room scene and kamikaze lightspeed make it hard for me to say RO > TLJ.
