  1. But in all honestly, it was a reflexive response because I just saw the movie and had been thinking about the difference in message between 8 and 9.

Honestly The Last Jedi is probably the only Star Wars movie with a message.

I get that... truly. I wish they would have continued with what Rian started. I just feel like the idea of a “nobody” being special has really never been the story of Star Wars.

like in all seriousness, are we now to just assume broom kid is somehow related to a skywalker/palpatine/solo? that's what you do when you make a creative decision like rey palpatine.

People are really taking the whole Rey Palpatine lineage and taking it the extra mile

Rey Palpatine is so fucking stupid. It is honestly as dumb as that joke on Twitter where she calls herself 'Rey Star Wars'.

  11. Or people are using hyperbole to express their disappointment in a story decision.

The more I think about this movie the more upset I get. What a shitty conclusion.

When Watching TFA the other day, I had forgotten that Rey mimicked similar movements to Palpatine during the lightsaber fight.

I swear when it was released I saw articles going around saying that Williams’ theme for Rey features parts very similar to his Palpatine theme too but now I can’t dig them up.

So after lifting all of those boulders at the end of TLJ and using the force do stop a giant spacecraft from flying away a few scenes later. What’s the reasonable explanation why Rey couldn’t use the force to lift herself and friends out of the sinking sand? Just to panicked to focus on the force maybe?

  20. She was waiting for her new force buddy Finn to do it since he had decided right at the moment to let everyone know he could use the force too.

Force users don’t like sand. It’s coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

Maybe as to why it made more than TLJ, but TFA also opened the Friday before Christmas and this film still had a smaller drop from Sunday to Monday.
