i don’t really like it, i agree w almost all the criticisms in this thread, im just sayin after pages and pages and pages of grousing and disappointment its obvious folks are Star Wars interested and there are tools available to interact w the movie in a different way.

But if redundant disappointment is yr thing go for it.

 

I think this movie is rather hauntological in the mark fisherian sense

 

I did enjoy it for the most part and I do want to watch it at least one more time but I think I need a break on non-Mandalorian Star Wars for a good while. Think I just burned myself out on my rewatch and just trying to get all in to everything. And the way all the backlash is being presented (not so much here) over the last two movies definitely isn’t helping.

 

This is sadly where I'm at.

Seeing that hashtag trending is making me all sorts of emotional. Seeing Rise really reinforced my thought that TLJ is my favorite Star Wars movie to date, debatable about best all time. Really didn't like seeing all the dislike for that movie, and so I actually avoided watching it because I couldn't do so without thinking of the, in my opinion, vocal minority's disdain for it. #ThankYouRianJohnson for creating my favorite Star Wars to date.

 

I'm sure it was on purpose, but the hilt on Rey's saber looks like either part of her staff or something she would take off from a ship while she was a scavenger. I need to watch it again since I've only watched it once so far.

 

Just got out of my third showing. Still don't love it but I'm coming around more.

 

Just got out. My take is that Rian Johnson’s movie was awesome and going back to Abrams was a bad idea. I enjoyed the movie, but not for the reasons I was hoping for.

 

It’s def part of her staff.

 

One time I listened to One Direction for an entire week and then I eventually started loving some of their songs. Haha.

 

Rian Johnson made a movie about subverting expectations and then JJ made a movie that torpedoed my expectations haha

I’m more mad about the Snoke cloning , and Palps thin motivations/existence in general.
