Interesting. I can kind of feel ep 3 vibes a bit, but I feel like 1 and 2 feel very different. Doesn’t really do anything for me either way though. And you know, I should like the 3 together. That should be fun. But I dunno. Maybe because it was the first time with all 3? But it just didn’t super click with me. I liked certain interactions in duos, but the core 3 together just felt like they bickered too much.

 

Even despite all the nonsense I really do just adore Rey

 

I listened for it my second viewing and unless it’s a word that sounds very similar, that’s absolutely what I heard.

 

That would fit the line, but I swear I hear an s at the end.

 

I hope there’s a scene where someone says “late” as they’re leaving the room

 

I can’t imagine watching TLJ and this back to back and it not being completely jarring.

 

Maybe that’s why I have almost no emotional reaction here. Because I did that and damn this was not the sequel to that movie.

Or has this year broken me? It’s been a long very hard year.

 

Where was this said? I keep seeing it mentioned.

 

I think it was a stormtrooper saying it as the knights of ren walked by.

 

My age is definitely a major factor of why I couldn’t get into this trilogy as much as the other two.

Oh! I thought he called them “ghouls.”

 

I think there is a lot of bad in this and it's fun to shit on it. But at the end of the day its...fine to me. I'm not upset that it didn't end the "Skywalker" saga that strongly. There has been a ton of great star wars content recently with a lot of great stuff to come (hopefully). I'll watch this one when it hits Disney+ but that might be the end of it for me.

Have you seen anyone else write about our anger and striking out in anger aggression take? I haven’t seen it other places yet and it was so glaring to me.

I don’t know, I’ve had a ton of hard stuff this year as well and that didn’t stop me from bawling during A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood or tearing up hard in Marriage Story or Parasite. Plenty of movies have hit me tremendously this month, this one just failed at connecting.

 

Cool. I keep thinking about that and the scene right before when Chewie “dies” and how that’s literally the opposite of what our hero should be doing.

 

Oh, I’m just speaking for myself. After bawling at TLJ so much it’s so jarring to have no real reaction here.

 

Oh, I did like Rey getting to fly an x wing and wear a pilot helmet like she did when we first met her.
