My thought was that she used what life force she had left to reach out to him through the force in that moment. His near death, Rey healing him, Leia reaching to him through the force, and revisiting the memory of his father, is what brought him back. Her action of reaching out was what killed her.

Driver might have been my favorite thing in the movie. His face when he's talking to his dad was heart wrenching

Didn't know so I figured just to be safe

It didn’t. The two just happened to take place at the same time. I’m pretty sure she was dead as soon as Ren dropped his saber.

That and the Chewie seen (after Leia) brought me to tears.

Ya know.....I noticed that Ben had zero dialogue but it didn’t bother me. His smile after the kiss was perfect tbh. Shout out Adam Driver. His arc will pretty much be the defining good thing about this trilogy. I didn’t really like much else about the movie.

People are always allowed to, but you don’t have to at this point

It didn’t. Right before it happened, Connix (I think it was her) said Leia knows that it will take all she has left to reach her son. She then reached out and connected to Ben. While we don’t know why it took all she had left, that connection caused her to pass.

It’s amazing how many people I’ve seen on social media saying “Yeah this movie is bad, but it’s only bad because J.J. had the impossible task of fixing everything Johnson ruined in the trilogy.”
    I can’t even...

Also, a minute of Jodie Comer is such a tease, make her the lead in another Star Wars project.

I think I remember reading that there was supposed to be a subplot about her being his long lost daughter or something but it got cut so we were left with that pointless scene

I thought for years he was super opposed to his character coming back

I really liked TLJ, but at least I understood why it caused so much outrage among some fans. There seems to be overwhelming hatred for TROS, and I feel like I'm crazy for really enjoying it.

It wasn't perfect of course, and it's quite possible I'd rank it somewhere in the bottom half of the 9 films, but I had a good enough time watching, and I didn't find myself infuriated about anything in particular.

I never want to steal someone's joy in liking something, don't let anyone convince you this movie is bad. I happen to think it is but I wish I loved it. If people feel that then they get to experience something really cool that I don't, so good for them

They also disrespected my boy Plo Koon. The guy had TONS of lines in Clone Wars. I certainly remember what he sounded like over Aayla or Adi.

Some things I wanted to see in this one, some since not long after TLJ came out, that they actually did:
    • Rey officially adopting the last name "Skywalker" at the end w/out actually being in that bloodline
    • Leia being part of the story via old footage, then dying for Force reasons, & her death being instrumental in Kylo's turn
    • Lando (before he was announced)
    • Wedge
    • Han Solo (my first thought was flashback, but some sorta Force vision as part of Kylo's turn did honestly cross my mind)

Some things I wanted that didn't happen (that can be described in an easy bullet point format):
    • Rose as part of the main cast; her theme in the score, just once
    • "Duel of the Fates" during a Rey vs Kylo fight
    • Hayden Christensen as Anakin Force ghost in Kylo's turn
    • Caroline Blakiston as Mon Mothma, alongside Lando & Wedge

It’s honestly a miracle the Leia stuff worked as well as it did in this

We reach for the longest shadow

I do not feel like Leia worked here. Way too much dialog with her in the beginning that felt extremely forced and took me out of the movie.

I feel bad for Chewy. Han, Luke, and Leia are all dead. Who does he have left? Poe?
