This was dumb as hell but truthfully I was way more entertained during it than TLJ which bored the shit out of me.

 

I find it a tad funny that Revenge of the Sith and this both basically end in the same place playing the same emotional beat for the audience.

 

At first, I thought this argument was DEAD WRONG. Like you could not possibly be more wrong if you tried. But the more I think about it, you have almost completely won me over. I do still believe that a solid story outline ahead of time would have lead to a much better and more satisfying Episode IX, but The Last Jedi is great enough that whatever it took to produce it was worth it in the end.

 

Also that wasn't actually Harrison Ford right? He didn't look real or sound like him at all

 

That was Harrison Ford.

 

There should have either been an outline from the beginning or they should have respected what Rian Johnson did and not try to revert all of his (very good) decisions in this one. It's like I've been saying, if they didn't want him to do his thing and accept the decisions he made, they shouldn't have let him make the movie his way in the first place.

 

I did like Anthony Daniels cameo out of the threepio suit

 

I got corny 90's movies vibes from the entire movie honestly. Like, Super Mario Bros, Batman Forever or Warriors Of Virtue kind of stuff. Must be the dark cinematography.

 

Just got out of the movie: I’m so utterly disappointed

many of the negative complaints about this film are similar to what I have, but the first five minutes where palpy comes back and having Ren have the dynamic of having another superior to “serve” immediately signified this was going to be terrible

 

Did they really not give Ben a single line of dialogue after he turned back to the light? Or am I just forgetting it?

I can't wait for the gifs of the first desert shot of the Knights Of Ren to show up. Felt straight out of a boyband music video.

 

I really wish they hadn't brought the Knights of Ren into this, they were so pointless.

 

This is where I have ended up. I need to see this movie.

 

I keep remembering more stuff

I feel like Chewies reaction to Leia's death came across as an apology for having them not interact after they destroyed Starkiller in TFA. He's said that was his biggest regret from TFA so to me it just rings hollow as more of a mea culpa for JJ rather than a genuine character reaction.

Also not a fan of how they handled Leia, period. They just went and found leftover footage of her saying lines and the writing to try and force it to make sense within the plot of the new movie just felt clumsy

 

All I could think about was Tom Cruise on the rock in MI2

 

Yup, everyone regressed to where they were before TLJ. Kylo's back to serving someone. Rey's back to needing to know her parentage, Poe's back to his usual heroics.

 

Ren wasn't serving the Emperor, he was using the Emperor to get to Rey. He literally tells her this the first time they talk about it and then again in the Star Destroyer hangar when he asks her to join him so they can kill the Emperor together.

 

Which one was he? I thought Dennis Lawson was Daniels in first viewing. But where was Daniels?

 

Also I really don't know much about star wars lore, can someone explain why stabbing Kylo Ren killed Leia?

I don't think so, but to Adam Driver's credit. I got a totally different vibe from Ben at that point.
