I figured. But I honestly can’t recall any arcs Aayla was in.

RO and Solo are easily better than this.

I just watched one so that is probably why I remember haha.

They are stranded on a planet with Anakin hurt, and need to fight off Separatists who want to test new weapon on the planet. Defenders of the Peace I think its called? Season 1.

I would love to see the longer cut of this film. There has to be a longer cut. I feel like 30 or 20 minutes was shaved off from when the original runtime was announced. While I did enjoy the movie quite a bit, I think it still would’ve benefited because I feel like I could tell where some parts were edited down.

when I went to my showing last night there was 35 minutes of trailers/ads. I don’t remember it being that bad in the past? I saw it at regal and there was like 5 fucking regal commercials for their gift cards, unlimited pass, etc and the audience groaned every time. There was even a fucking car commercial in between trailers!

  15. Same at ours. I hate the big box/chain theatre shit more and more every time I go. :crylaugh:

I hate that I get at least 20 minutes of trailers/ads/promotion at chain theaters. But the trailers, particularly the Tenant prologue thing, was the best part of my theater experience this morning.

It really cannot be said enough how lame it is to make Rey a Palpatine. It's just so, so lame and so pandering to the type of crowd that uses "subverting expectations" as a pejorative.

yep - almost the same, we had about 25 mins of previews/commercials. Our 9:50 advertised showing time didn't roll the crawl until around 10:15-10:20.

and the previews we saw sucked.

my theater weirdly got the same promo or whatever for the IMAX experience twice (Outstanding visuals! Earth-shattering sound! Don't just WATCH the movie, BE A PART OF IT!) IN A ROW

The car commercial thing is super annoying and gross, but I don’t think our showing was that bad. Maybe 15-20 at the most? That’s just counting from the 5 PM start though. I was hoping we would have some trivia or something before but I didn’t notice any by the time we got in. The little intro from Daisy and John was cute at least.

I also liked that in TLJ Luke tosses his lightsaber behind his back, but in this film he catches it after Rey tries to throw it in the fire and tells her to respect it.

"I don't think people go to Star Wars movies to be told 'this doesn't matter'."

that deserves to live alongside "it's like poetry, they rhyme" as phrases from Star Wars directors that clearly have no idea how to tell a story

the Luke Force ghost scene felt so weird, like it was almost uncomfortable how happy Hamill clearly was to be retconning everything Rian did in TLJ lol
