There’s a ton of posters for this movie, but this is one of the better ones, If not the best. Friggin sick!

1 hour (ish) to go for me

 

Seated. Showing isn’t sold out and it’s barely half full. Pretty shocked.

 

Just got out of my showing. Definitely the most confused, mixed, and... uncomfortable I ever felt at a theater. The twists didn't sit well with my audience at all, and the atmosphere shifted after all of them.

As for me, there's both many things I liked and others I disliked about the movie, but I just can't get the latters out of my head as they sour the whole experience as of now. I'll probably need a good rest before posting my thoughts, because I don't want to come across as reactionary then regret it afterwards.

Not a big fan of this at all. Hugely disappointing honestly. Genuinely felt like reddit fan fiction. So much wasted potential.

 

Honestly there were so many moments and decisions made in this movie that had me shaking my head in disbelief. The more I think about it the less I like it.

That said, I'm not gonna go harass people on Twitter about it and start a petition to get Rian Johnson to remake it although I'm sure he would have done a much better job.

 

On a positive note there was a lot of really cool looking shit in this movie.

 

Good way to go about not liking it. Wish more people that disliked it would take a page from your book.

 

Hoo boy, this is gonna be an interesting watch

 

I need to watch The Force Awakens and this one back to back. Is Abrams usually this literal or am I just biased because of my negative reaction? There were too many eye-rolling moments and lines that jumped out as unnatural this time. I know, nothing out of ordinary coming from this saga.

But... Luke was unrecognizable. There was something off about Kylo's delivery as well. His turn to the light side was the change of pace he needed after being a broken clock for most of the runtime, and the Han Solo scene hit hard, but it happens so late that he isn't given much to do afterwards. Perhaps many more subtle or emotionally satisfying scenes were cut on the editing room floor?

So much of the dialogue had me rolling my eyes. It was so ham fisted.

 

I'm trying not to talk spoilers until a bunch more people in here have seen it and are chatting without tags. I cba with spoiler tagging shit.

 

Yeah my bad, didn't realize this wasn't out worldwide yet. Won't make the same mistake twice. Spoiler tagging my other post as well.

edit: Well, was that necessary when people started talking about spoiler just moments after my post? I'll never get the mindset of refreshing a thread of a movie you haven't seen yet. That's on you.

 

Well.

 

One hour to go for my first showing. So nervous.

 

All I'll say is Leia. My god, that was bad. Not that she shouldn't have been in it, but that was rough.

 

Her I didn't mind too much since I'm sure they were limited but yeah, still rough.

 

That was distracting. Time will tell if that will age better as we’re farther removed from her death, but it felt like lines that were shoddily retrofitted to make it look like she was having a conversation.

 

Hated the first 30 min, loved the rest. Some big time eye roll moments though

Rey just dominates this film. I was so distracted by how cool and badass she was to even notice a lot of the flaws here

 

That's exactly it. If they didn't have the lines available to make the conversation look natural, they should have done it another way. My issue isn't with Leia and her part in the film, just the shoddy way it was done.

 

I loved it. There were definitely a few things that weren’t my favorite but I loved where it ended up and a lot of the elements that led it there. Can’t wait to see it again
