Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (J.J. Abrams, December 20, 2019) Movie • Page 283

  1. The Clone Wars cartoon handles the political stuff pretty well in my opinion

  2. Also, definitely more excited for this since I'm seeing it today than I was earlier this week, reviews be damned.

I'm trying to go in tonight spoiler free, but I am enjoying reading about people's high level opinion of the movie. It's hard to imagine a world where I don't come home tonight feeling entertained and satisfied. I'm sure most of the issues will come to light after I think on it for a while, which, is the case with all SW movies honestly.

Except Rogue One. Rogue One rules.

Today is the day! I don't really care about opinions good or bad about this film, just like the other two sequel movie I will come up with my own opinions and not let anybody affect my enjoyment of SW.

Going to be heading to my friend's place early in the evening and watching TLJ. It'll be fun to watch that and then immediately head to the theater for this. I might not be okay with everything that happens in this movie, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it, and if I don't then that's okay because it's okay to not like the new Star Wars movies and it's okay to love them so there!!! I can't loose nanana not listening Internet

T-minus 8 hours for me. As long as I get my fan service I’ll be fine.

Well this was, okay? It’s not the awful movie reviews are making it sound like, but it’s also pretty meh. Some awesome, emotional scenes but also a bunch of times where all I could think was “you gotta be fucking kidding me...” Laughed out loud at one horribly cheesy scene.

I think this is the most appropriate take. I do agree with a lot of the issues people are having with it, but I think the reviews are making them out to be bigger than they are. There's definitely good stuff in there.

Oh my gosh, I just watched Kylo reviving Rey, the kiss, & him vanishing, & it's so dumb, lol. Thank goodness for these leaks so that I can have my visceral reaction now & roll w/ it a little easier when I see the film in about 11 hrs.

On the plus side, the Han vision actually looked good to me, so hopefully I get enough moments like that to not be too annoyed.

Just got out of OG trilogy portion of the marathon and seeing those movies in theatres meant the world to me. An incredible experience

It amazes me how Lucasfilm reshot a good portion of Solo and some of Rogue One but watched that scene and allowed it to be in the final cut.

I rewatched 7 and 8 last night and still truly love both. Feeling trepidatious about tonight.

Okay, now that I have slept on things.

Things I really liked in this that I wish were present through all three films:
The Sith Cult. I LOVED the sith tombs, lore, fortresses, all of that. I think it would have been really cool if Snoke was a sith cultist being manipulated by Palpatine (not a clone!). It would have been great at the end of TFA to see Snoke approaching Paplitine on Exogul. Seeing that presence, setting, and forces of the sith cult earlier would have made the final act of TROS way more threatening. TLJ could have played out exactly as it did with maybe the death of Snoke bringing Paplatine out into the open. It also would have been cool to see him interacting with ancient sith to up the "I am all the sith"

It's unprecedented how across the board my excitement has been for this the last couple days. Practically every other hour I go through a wave of depression followed by hope.

I've reserved myself to it being a fun, insignificant movie. So if it's more than that I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Just dropped my niece at a birthday party and she ran in and hugged her friends and they're all so amped up and excited after seeing this. They literally spent over 5 minutes talking about their favourite parts and all their favourite characters, etc.

Obviously they can't go deep into the lore, or theories and shit like that, they're a group of 12 year olds.

But it was still really cool to see a group of kids talk about this movie with just pure excitement and love. This movie meant the world to my niece, who's obsessed with Rey.

No "scathing" review will take that moment away from me.

There's too much stress and hate associated with Star Wars.

Stuff like this is always nice to see in the midst of that:

so, the soundtrack is out in apple music now, and, while i still wouldnt look at the track list if you dont want any thing known, the one leaked in this thread last week was not accurate that i can see.
