everyone super worried about the leaks i think needs to remember that when TFA leaked everyone was terrified about it and were trying to write it off. Then it releases and the vast majority loved it. Leaks mean nothing in regards to the quality of the film

I know I'm in the minority, but I honestly don't have many problems with what I'm hearing from them. Then again, I know that no matter what, everyone is going to be divided because it's a new Star Wars movie.

I think this movie will be received much better than TLJ. If it does a great job of ending the story and it feels like Star Wars i can see people looking past some plot elements

Anyway, let's move this away from vague leak talk so as to not scare everyone away.

What's everyone's favorite and least favorite aspects of the Disney-era films so far?

Saw one guy complain that luke showing up at the end of TLJ is just contradicting everything he said in the movie. BITCH that's called a character arc???

Favorite - they've been using more practical effects and everything isn't in front of a green screen like the prequels. Also the characters of Rey and Ben
Least favorite - this has been talked about before, but the score hasn't impressed me as much as it did in the past films. I also wish we'd have more lightsaber on lightsaber action.

Favorite: what Rian did w/ Rey.

Least favorite: what I'm expecting JJ to do w/ that.

  11. For those in the back: Luke was treated perfectly.

Favourite: Practical effects, more grit, pushing boundaries while keeping what people love about Star Wars, new great characters while 'passing the torch' inclusions of old favourites. More expansion of the universe (Mandalorian, Jyn Erso's story, etc.) while respecting the Skywalker saga.

Least favourite: Disney owning the property bringing out the worst in entitled fans, and while I do say I can never have enough Star Wars in my life, maybe there is a bit of Star Wars overload at the moment. A film break for 2-3 years if not more will be refreshing.

  13. Favorite: actual creative fans of Star Wars, that grew up with it, shepherding it to new places and heights after the low period.

Least: It happening at one of the most toxic periods in the internet’s history and forever being associated with that garbage.

Favorite: Kylo Ren might be my favorite Star Wars character in general now. If not number one, slightly behind Han.

Least favorite: Everything about General Hux. I don’t like anything about him. The acting, the character, awkward humor that doesn’t work for me, etc...

Porgs and the perfectly executed and toned down fan service in TLJ.

least favorite is Solo, I can't stay interested long enough to finish that movie. It just isn't something I ever cared to see.

Don’t think it was right for him to die in the second movie, would have liked him to physically gone and fought Kylo. That’s just a few things. It’s honestly my fault, Luke is my favourite character in anything ever so I had this perfect image of what I wanted and when that didn’t happen or come close happening I was bummed and haven’t really gotten over it. Still like a good 75% of TLJ tho

Not fighting is a pretty major part of who luke is.

I never said what I wanted was the right thing and most like his character, it’s just something I wanted the most in the sequel trilogy.

Favorite: I really like the atmosphere and modern film quality. They’ve managed to capture the atmosphere of the OT while using modern digital cameras and some practical effects. What I really wanted with the sequel trilogy was to see what the OT would have been like if filmed today and I feel like I’ve received that.

Least favorite: I haven’t really enjoyed many of the new planets but that’s because the prequels and OT pretty much covered them already.

Favorite: Expansion of the lore, return to practical effects which make the world feel real, the characters are interesting and relatable for the most part and the casting choices have all been excellent.

Least favorite: While I've enjoyed the stories told and the expansion of stories and characters we're already familiar with, it hasn't always felt like a super imaginative output. I'm excited to see what they do with a blank slate after this trilogy is over and I wouldn't mind if they stopped mining the Empire/Rebels time period all together.

Just watched Enpire with my 66 year old mom who has never seen it and somehow managed to go her life without finding out Vader was Luke’s father.

Her response was and I quote:”No...tell me it’s not true..” lol and then when Luke says it “that’s what I said!”

  25. That people miss this very very important part of who Luke is, is always super depressing to me. That moment in ROTJ is what makes the entire movie and character work and special.
