Me reading news about this movie all week

 

I've never seen Prometheus & have no interest in it, but I've been itching to give Alien: Covenant a shot.

I also love Unbreakable & didn't hate Glass but refuse to watch Split. And, I don't like X-Men: First Class but do like Dark Phoenix. And, I like Phantom Menace more than Solo & Revenge of the Sith. And, Iron Man 3 more than any movie named "Avengers" besides Endgame. Um. What other bad opinions do I have... I really like A Wrinkle in Time?

 

You left out Venom.

 

Seriously. I mean, is this to distract us from something? Like, what is going on?

 

Love it or hate it, Prometheus is absolutely worth watching at least once if you love sci-fi/horror. Of if you love Michael Fassbender. It’s one of the most visually striking movies of the last decade, imo

 

Fassbender is why I saw it

 

I’d admit that when I first saw the film (and the few months after) it was hard for me to really like it because of where I thought the story was going. I could enjoy it but I didn’t fully understand some of the choices as I probably shared on this site. It wasn’t so much to do with Reddit theories but just me analyzing TFA so much and thinking where it would go. It also didn’t have Han which I realized over time is one thing I missed but couldn’t pinpoint. As I continued watching TLJ on Netflix over time I started to liked it more and I can now appreciate it. Now I really like it as a continuation of Rey’s relationship with the concept of what a Jedi is - which I think is one of the central messages.

Venom was... okay? Maybe? Worth a redbox rental.

 

Like, did the movie come out bad and they’re just trying to make us angrier at them than the movie? Haha

 

There are two good things about Alien: Covenant and they are Fassbender and McBride. If you like them as actors you’ll at least be entertained while watching the film.

 

i love last jedi and green milk is one of my favorite parts. haven't the haters considered maybe rey got to ahch-to on st. patty's day???

 

I'm so confused atm.

Obviously the Boyega thing is awful, and I'm sure it wasn't malicious what he meant, but it's still not a good thing to say. He had a real opportunity here to support her and speak up against harrassment, and he took a shit turn with his choice there. Bummer.

But what's the go with everyone complaining about the leaks? I haven't read or watched anything (leakwise), but people are smart enough to know that potential leaks are just maybes/what if's/potentially wrong right? Why's everyone freaking out?

 

Apparently the leaks have been looking more true after tv spots and the leaked track listing. That’s what I’ve read anyways. I haven’t been watching a lot of tv spots or looked up spoilers so I wouldn’t know.

 

Yes I haven’t read anything about any leaks, so I’m lost on that topic

 

I’m pretty sure JJ admitted that a physical script made its way online although Disney was able to get it back. The source of the leaks could be from that but with what’s been revealed lately the leaks seem legit so I would advise not even chancing it.

covenant is legit one of the worst movies i've ever seen. i was so excited for it too. alien movies always get me even if they mostly suck

 

It’s crazy to me that there can even be script leaks for a big movie in 2019, but then again, someone posted the entire series finale summary for Game of Thrones days before it aired, so my faith is clearly shaken.

 

It largely treats the stigma of having multiple personality disorder as a narrative tool for the villain of the film without taking it seriously. It’s also very lazy writing.

 

100% on the script. Boyega had one, was moving the next day and put the script under his bed. Partied that night and forgot it the next day he left. Someone found it and gave it to someone and it showed up in eBay.

no way to know if that’s for sure where the leaks are from, but it could be.

 

I believe he said it was his house cleaner. Like, how do you think you’re gonna get away with selling that?

 

I have looked at almost every leak, and can confirm that the trailers, tv spots, and tracklist definitely allude to them all being true. Also a German Burger King commercial blatantly states spoilers from those leaks in it.
