Welp, based on the titles of the score...leaks are legit.

EDIt: And would specifically recommend their recent episode on the character arcs of the sequel trilogy

I have a friend who constantly refers to the new ones (TFA onwards) as reboots. As in, and I'm pretty sure this is a direct quote from him: "The Star Wars reboots are soooo bad, they're the exact same as the originals! They just copied them."

One of my biggest gripes is when people say TFA is a direct copy of ANH. Heaps of similarities and a mirrored story arc, yes. But J.J and Disney were very much aware of that fact, and it's also part of what made the movie pure Star Wars. It was a nostalgiac feast for fans, while still giving enough new to keep people curious as to what was next. Yes there was heaps of fan service, but wasn't that the aim?

But back to my friend, who thinks they're reboots and not sequels. He's also in the camp of thinking Yub Nub is superior to Victory Celebration at the end of ROTJ, and while I'm not in the Lucas addition camp, I think that change was one that worked.

Still watching clones... funny how Jar Jar does the exact thing Padme wouldn’t do. And the Jedi don’t seem to care that the chancellor is taking all that power. Obi-Wan is over here in dire need of help but Yoda and Mace are like let’s just take in this senate meeting that probably takes hours before we help.

Also, Palpy is like “my first act will be to create an army of the republic...” just playing they’re already here!!!

Dooku is laying out all the plans to Obi-Wan. He’s still with Sidious but are the separatists wrong? The senate is being controlled by the Sith after all. What is it that they want?

Edit: Totally forgot, they make a big deal about Anakin slaughtering the Tusken Raiders and then he buries his mom, travels to another planet, trespasses on their factory and just starts slaughtering Geonosians. But that’s ok

  8. Also watching clones rn. It’s fucking horrible. The green screen is so bad.

If Master Obi-Wan heard you say that he'd be very grumpy.

  11. The Jedi in this movie are the Democrats in 2019. Falling all over their own dicks to fuck it all up time and time again.

Last couple things on Clones: Dooku says “how could the Jedi get an army so quickly?” Bro, you hired the bounty hunter that they cloned to make that army. What are you talking about? Unless he doesn’t realize that’s what they are. But Jango would have known but he dies before they show up. Or Dooku is playing dumb to the separatists.

it looks like Padme runs up to Anakin and gives him a kiss in front of Yoda after Dooku escapes. Could have been just a hug though. Either way, not a good look if you’re trying to keep it on the dl.

why couldn’t Yoda just use the force to stop Dooku’s ship from leaving? Or at least slow it down. And why the hell would you have that narc C-3PO as a witness to your secret wedding?

I’m going to be starting my rewatch on Thursday. Friday I should finish it up and then go get my baby Yoda flash sheet tattoo for Friday the 13th. $13 tattoo with a $13 tip.

I still got some enjoyment out of clones. I still like the prequels I guess even though I haven’t really seen them since around their release. Went straight into Revenge. Guess I don’t want to sleep tonight. And I actually really enjoyed this one more than I remember. The green screens are terrible but there’s also a lot of little details that I love, like when after Anakin kills all the separatists there’s a moment where he’s looking out from the control room and random embers are falling on it but there’s a shield around it.

By the time this movie came out I was really into Natalie Portman as an actress but I felt like she was terrible in this movie. After rewatching I thought she was actually pretty good here. Definitely not as bad as I thought originally.

Why wouldn’t they go together and destroy Palpatine and Anakin one by one? Yoda and Obi-wan were already both on Coruscant. Might as well start there and then go to Anakin. And Padme tells Obi-wan there’s still good in him but you would think that Obi-wan believes him to be dead. And of course they wouldn’t have considered this when they made A New Hope but it’s funny how only 19 years have passed and Obi-wan and Tarkin look like 40 years have gone by when we see them there

This time in exactly one week I'll be sitting in a cinema watching trailers before TROS. Holy shit.

Up to ANH. It's great watching these in story order, including Solo and Rogue One. Seeing it all come together as one piece really is stellar.

I haven’t seen ROTS in full since the day it came out. I’m planning on a full rewatch this week since we’re at the end, but I am totally dreading that and AOTC.
