yeah i definitely dont wish for CT to have been director here but his story of Rey's background is one I would have not minded in the least

Rewatched Attack Of The Clones last night. Worst of the SW films IMO. I stand by that TPM beats this out, which is a controversial opinion in Australia.

AOTC is by far the worst movie. You’re absolutely right.

In Australia, general consesus is that TPM is the worst. That movie has more redeeming qualities than AOTC easily.

I think it’s prominent everywhere. But those people are wrong.

Unless you're an incel on Instagram, where Lucas' vision in the prequels was genius! :-|

I would definitely rank TPM above AOTC. AOTC is currently my least favorite Star Wars film.

I'll join in. Mind you, I haven't gotten to TFA or TLJ on my rewatch, so this could change.

1.) Empire Strikes Back - the best Star Wars that will ever Star Wars
2.) A New Hope - that original magical alchemy of influences
3.) The Last Jedi - the most interesting modernization of what made the franchise work
4.) Rogue One - really dig the different tone, but would hate if it ever became the tone
5.) Return of the Jedi - disjointed yet worthy finale of the classics
6.) The Force Awakens - decent relaunch w/ great cast
    7.) The Phantom Menace - like a charming b-movie
    8.) Solo - vanilla
9.) Revenge of the Sith - bad
10.) Attack of the Clones - worst

    • Empire Strikes Back: In play for my favorite movie of all time, definitely in the top five. I love this film. I don’t think anything will ever surpass it in the Star Wars world, but that’s fine to me.
    • Star Wars: The original, especially the despecialized edition, remains a classic. It’s hard to put anything above it given what it started, how well it holds up, and the nostalgic ties I have to the movie.
    • Force Awakens: I’ve got this here, and I waffle with it, because of how much it’s re-inspired my love for everything Star Wars. Being introduced to new characters I’ve come to love, seeing old friends, and giving me a massive smile every time I watch it, all come into play. It has flaws, but I find myself not caring when the movie’s playing.
    • Return of the Jedi: As a kid, this was my favorite, and then I had a period where it was my least favorite, but now it’s settled back in here. The end of Luke’s transformation, his decision to not fight, is one of my favorite moments in all of film.
    • The Last Jedi: As time goes on, this film climbs my ranking. It’s an incredible achievement that captures my wonder, subverts my expectations, and carries with it a great message. It also contains some of the most gorgeous shots in the entire Star Wars universe. If not for my entire childhood being a thing … this would be above ROTJ.
    • Rogue One: The third act of this movie is incredible. Unfortunately, the first two feel disjointed to me. Even with that, the third act being as good as it is raises it a step above.
    • Solo: I didn’t think this was nearly as bad as the original “buzz” suggested. It was fun, completely enjoyable, and I will absolutely watch it again in the future. I’ve only seen it once, so for now, it sits here. But in time I could see it finding a place above Rogue One.
    • Phantom Menace: The music’s the best part, there’s one great lightsaber battle, and the rest is … not good. Still the best of the prequels.
    • Revenge of the Sith: When you fail at the one thing you’re supposed to do — show me how someone becomes Darth Vader — the final act of that story loses points by definition. Narratively broken and overstuffed.
    • Attack of the Clones: I don’t like this movie. It’s coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere.

The prequels are slightly salvageable based on Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman doing the best with what they had to work with. Moreso Ewan, but you can tell Natalie was giving it her all too.

don’t know how anyone could rank a prequel above TLJ, and I still stan for Phantom. (but I’m also the guy who still loves RotJ and doesn’t worship Empire).

They tend to swap places most of the time.

I love Ewan's performance in ROTS, and despite some silly choreography and less than great green screen, the battle of the heroes is a scene I love.

TLJ I adore on so many levels, hence why it moves up straight after a watch. It'll swap with ROTS soon.

Anyone ever watched Star Wars 4K77? Or 4K83 (RotJ).

Based on the YouTube video about the Despecialized Editions I watched, I don't think it'd be my thing. But, 4K77 & 4K83, scanned & cleaned up from old theatrical film reels, seem super dope. Would especially love to watch the no DNR versions some time on my church's or church camp's projector. Apparently 4K80 is underway but won't be done for a while.

  23. Hmm I'd probably go

    Empire
    A New Hope
    The Force Awakens
    Return of the Jedi
    The Last Jedi
    Rogue One
    Phantom Menace
    Revenge of the Sith
    Solo
    Attack of the Clones

With the first six having small gaps between them and then there is a gigantic chasm between Rogue One and Phantom
