I’ll never forget the pain I felt when Yoda first came on screen in TPM. Just an atrocity.

 

It is a bummer George was more excited about technology than story development.

We needed a 6 season cartoon series to give us something that's actually good from that time period and to give the characters some actual depth.

 

I like the Obi-Wan/Jango fight

 

I like the seismic charge sounds

 

In 6th grade a I wrote a free write essay assignment on how bad TPM Yoda puppet was and how amazing AOTC Yoda looked.

I am biased against bad fucking movies. That is true.

 

i think most folks here for the most part are biased against the prequels, and i don't think that's news. that said, i'm not gonna shame anyone for finding enjoyment in them if they do (and i don't think anyone else would either).

 

I went into the prequels this past week w/ an open mind & ended up reassessing my opinion of Phantom Menace. *shrug* Having an opinion =/= being “biased”; it has a lot more to do w/ tastes than anything.

 

I really never thought we’d see a time where the prequels being bad would be a controversial view.

 

Yeah, I just watched all 3 prequels this weekend and my opinions were unchanged on them, Clones has no redeemable moments, at all. TPM has DotF going for it, and RotS to me is enjoyable enough to maybe be the only one of the 3 i revisit on it's own. It will likely be multiple years before i even consider watching the prequels again lol

 

I think I saw EP II on TNT like 6 months ago, and holy hell it doesn't hold up well on TV.

 

I've tried twice recently to get into the Clone Wars animated series and, idk I just can't seem to hold interest. I don't know if it's the cartoon-ness of it (which doesnt seem likely bc I love a good cartoon), i just think i'm not interested at all in anything during the time of the prequels because of how bad a story the movies told lol

 

Has the “what if they were good” videos been shared a 100 times already?

 

Speaking of opinions, I like puppet Yoda in Phantom more than CGI Yoda & intentionally bought the DVD w/ that. It’s not a good puppet like the original trilogy & Last Jedi, but it is good to me in a b-movie kinda way. Same reason I’m glad it was shot on 35mm.

 

You should maybe give Rebels a try and see if you think it's the animation or not. And then, if that takes, you may be more able to go back to CW and have a vested interest in seeing the story play out.

Would also strongly recommend rebels. I'm watching it for the first time now and loving it.

 

That’s an insult to b movies.
