I will say I think this trilogy has really nailed the practical effects and action sequences which I really enjoy. Where as the prequels excelled in the score and the originals excelled in characters.

The prequels nailed character development too. Eg. Watto in TPM, no hat. Watto in AOTC, hat.

Jk, I have a lot of love for the prequels, despite the obvious flaws. (Green screen, wooden dialogue, very meme-able Palpatine, etc.)

I loved how large the prequels made the galaxy.

How dare you throw the memes we get out of Sheev in with the flaws.

Haha, by no means do I think the memes that came out of the prequels are a flaw. Just some of Palpatine's lines are a bit ehhhhhhhhh...but then again without them we wouldn't have the memes.

    Now I'm torn.

Ha personally for me, I was young when the prequels came out and loved them, then got a little older and had a stuck up attitude thinking the prequels were terrible because that’s what I read everywhere and was like damn these movies are terrible.

Then I discovered the memes and it suddenly became something I really enjoyed watching again. Idk if it makes them GOOD, but I find them very enjoyable again.

I recently started rewatching the franchise starting with the prequels and hoo boy, these have not aged well. At least TPM was shot on film and on location in many cases, but AOTC feels like it was made in a vacuum.

Also the decision to give Anakin major stalker vibes was a bold one.

being an incel is half way between the cute kid we see in TPM and kid murdering darth vader.

Just got off a plane and was watching AOTC. Random nitpick in a sea of nitpicks: when Padme falls out of the transport with the clone trooper on Geonosis, how does she know where Anakin and Obi-Wan went? She says they have to get to “that hanger” when she’s out cold long before they even get there.

Rey's Parentage Remains A Focus In STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER According To Daisy Ridley

"The parents thing is not satisfied - for her and for the audience. That's something she's still trying to figure out - where does she come from?"

"It's not that she doesn't believe it," said Ridley on the moment she learned the truth from Kylo. However, "She feels there's more to the story. And she needs to figure out what's come before so she can figure out what to do next."

i also hate comicbookmovie.com articles because all they do is twist quotes and take all context out of things people are saying and just make clickbait-y headlines. like this article in no way confirms her parentage will be a focus in the movie, like, at all, yes the headline points directly to that.

I mean, I've already braced myself for the very high likelihood that they fuck that up, but there still is some hope that whatever way they touch on it again doesn't change the bloodline (just the exact circumstances).

I dig it. Despite the haters I think she’s done an incredible job in an impossible position and handled mostly everything very well in spite of a lot of adversity. I I feel like she subtly defends herself at points in this too really well.

I love they are unsure of the direction st this point and want to take time to
Make the best move and plan it out better. I really hope she decides to continue leading Lucasfilm going forward.

and hope that her saying Feiges project being far away means Rians trilogy is next. He started writing I think beginning of 2018 so it’s prpbably the furthest in development at this point. Hopefully Knives Out success will give that project some momentum

Daisy saying Rey feels like there is more to her parents isn’t evidence enough that it will be focused, or at least expanded on, in TROS?

Even if she does want to find out more about where she comes from, that would be fine as long as it's not some huge dumb reveal.

If they are bothering to revisit it, I feel like it has to be some huge dumb reveal. They definitely don't want to go through TLJ reaction again right?

nothing ANYONE says is evidence of anything because these actors are under contract to revel legitimately nothing about the film prior to release. this is absolutely an out of context article intended for clicks.

I feel like it’ll be something where the parents were forced to leave her for her own protection

I'm just bracing myself for somewhat of a tiptoe around her being nobody. I hope it's left alone, but I doubt it.
