I'm always more interested in movies than television (though the Mandalorian has me very hyped). I just enjoy movies more than tv in general. The project I still want to see the most is the Rian Johnson trilogy. Though I think we're probably just going to get a continuation of Feige does for future films.

Is the Kevin Feige project being developed from scratch? Part of me would like to have him just jump into the mix of the Rian Johnson trilogy (the sensibilities of TLJ & Marvel's better films aren't that different), but his track record makes me assume he's not gonna play w/ anyone else's toys.

Anyways, I'd rather have the Johnson trilogy than Feige, unless Feige is gonna make an interesting director choice as he sometimes has in the past (Taika Waititi, Ryan Coogler, James Gunn, Chloé Zhao). But, I'd far prefer either of those decent options over those B&W dorks.

Oh, & yeah, I far prefer films to television. I typically do not have the patience or dedication for that many hours of investment into one narrative, lol.

As my life is right now, I prefer films to tv. It’s purely a time issue. It’s just easier to watch one movie than a season of a tv show. I love both, and appreciate the depth you can do in a brilliant tv show. But movies just work better with my current busyness.

Exactly the same with me. I'm never able to commit to a full show nowadays, which bums me out, but it is what it is. I'll always end up like weeks or months later being like "Fuck, I only got a few episodes into that show I started"

I could probably try to consistently make time if I really wanted to. I'm taking a busy course load for my final year in college and am working two jobs so extended free time is hard to come by, when I have some I try to do things with friends or go out when I can. I watch stuff sometimes but my schedule is pretty erratic.

When I do choose to watch a show, yes, of course. I have time to watch a tv show. But to watch all the shows I have interest in on a weekly basis? That adds up very quickly.

maybe a better way to say it, is I don’t have time to keep up in every show I would want to watch. So I enjoy movies more at this time because I can watched one movie and be done with it. Which is also why I prefer binge watching a show. I can knock out a season in a weekend or whatever and move on to the next thing.

I don’t say any of this to say I’m right or how anyone else should consume content. This is merely what I find myself doing these days. When I didn’t work full time I kept up in so many shows. When I started working full time I fell behind and started to feel low key stressed about “missing out”. Which is silly. It just worked better for me to stop watching so much current tv and to catch stuff on streaming down the road.

I watch most movies at home. But my theater is 5 minutes away and never that busy, so when I go it’s not a big deal.

These moments were connected for me for a long time, but it’s cool to see Rian even did the exact same framing. God, I love The Last Jedi.

It’s ironic how Luke mirrored Obi-Wan as well. Feeling like they failed their apprentice after they went to the dark side.

It was fun today when I checked another theater to see if they added showings, and I realized that all the “sold out” shows I saw for it were actually just not on sale yet.

so I got tickets for viewing #2 in imax for 12:55 AM. They have so many seats open. Will likely purchase a ticket for a third screening for Friday night soon.

My friend bought a ticket for me for a showing that begins right when mine ends. Once again, I'll be watching it and booking it when credits start to drive to another theater for a second showing the first night lol

“On this one, I let myself be, at least in the way I was approaching the thing, freer,” he said. “In Episode 7, I was adhering to a kind of approach that felt right for Star Wars in my head. It was about finding a visual language, like shooting on locations and doing practical things as much as possible. And we continue that in Episode 9, but I also found myself doing things that I’m not sure I would have been as daring to do on Episode 7.”

“Rian helped remind me that that’s why we’re on these movies – not to just do something that you’ve seen before,” Abrams said. “I won’t say that I felt constrained or limited on 7, but I found myself wanting to do something that felt more consistent with the original trilogy than not. And on 9, I found myself feeling like I’m just gonna go for it a bit more.”

This makes me happy to hear. I'm excited for whatever JJ came up with honestly.
