The force question also has me intrigued/nervous. If they really want to tie the whole saga together, it's a good question to focus on, but I hope it's focusing more the spiritual/philosophical side that TLJ looked at as opposed to going Mechaluke blowing up star destroyers with his mind.

 

I still have no idea why, with his track record, they hired Chris Terrio to write this movie. Even if they hired Larry Kasdan to give it a punch up or something I would feel so much better about it.

 

Yea exactly. It’s hard for me to believe Lucasfilm would allow that to happen since they’ve done so well so far, but still has me nervous. I think it’s most likely in reference to Palpatines involvement and what he’s been able to do with the Force to keep himself alive. Basically the whole manipulating life angle.

 

once ‘tieing the saga’ became made so much of in the production team’s talking points its made me a little nervous. dunno if thats reasonable or not. that just seems like some pretty broad strokes to make in a couple hours of run time.

I went to Target and they literally had nothing. I'm not even really sure what I want. Are there any shirts with Klaud on them?

That puzzle is pretty sweet.

 

None of the Walmart’s around me got anything in, Target got about half of their stuff, but Hot Topic and GameStop were able to fill in the gaps for the stuff I wanted to get. Got all of the Funko Pops minus one of the 10’’ Boba Fetts and a few Black Series figures so today was definitely a success for me.

 

I kind of forgot it was force Friday. Oops! Will swing by Walmart and check for the Black Series I want.

 

I think Bendemption is all but inevitable at this point.

Do I want it? No.

But did I want Han and Leia to have been apart for so long? No. Did I want Luke to run away and hide for years? No. And many others things I would have never asked for.

But have I ended up loving those decisions and enjoying the fuck out of the story we have been given so far? FUCK YES!

So I’m ready for anything at this point.

 

Just happy to see the novelization written by a woman. Haven’t read Most Wanted but heard good things

 

I'm excited for the novelization. I loved the TLJ novelization and the extra time it spent with Luke.

I also think Bendemption will probably happen, but I hope it's done in a way that's different from Vader if it happens.

 

I think JJ and Lucasfilm will go out of their way avoid making it too similar to Vader’s redemption. I think in that way TFAs similarities/“rehashing” are beneficial because it was talked about so much and now they are aware to not have that happen again.

I think Ben will be redeemed like Vader in that he will be redeemed in the eyes of the Force and his personal perspective but the galaxy won’t and that perspective might even be highlighted which in itself would make it different than Vader’s. I also think the situation will be totally different. I don’t think Kylo will die actually

 

Thank god Resistance and Mandalorian are coming out soon. The wait for this one is starting to kill me.

just had a thought unrelated to force friday but re: ticket sales

the 14th is columbus day, seems highly unlikely they'd release tickets on a holiday weekend - would lock in the 21st as ticket night and prepare thy wallets.
