I once had someone crinkling tin foil...then silence......and then they said very loudly to their partner, "WANT SOME CHOCOLATE CAKE?". And you could tell that their mouth was filled with cake when they said it.

Another reason I love Alamo Drafthouse, you get thrown out for that kind of behavior.

So at the risk of derailing the Official Movie Snack Thread...

I would not be surprised if the opening crawl ends with saying our heroes have spent _______years in hiding while trying to rebuild the rebellion and rallying different systems to their cause. After a chaotic time reorganizing and after losing so much to the First Order they finally stop to honor all of the victims before they make their stand to the tyranny to the First Order.

Then it opens up on Yavin IV where everyone including Lando and Leia looking over memorials for Luke, Han, Ackbar, Holdo, etc... somebody makes a speech. Maybe Poe to establish him as the new leader and lay out some exposition to establish everybody’s mission against the First Order.

This is where Leia takes out Hans medal maybe. She could put it down next to his memorial or also might give Rey the medal so Rey has Luke’s saber, Hans blaster, and now the medal Leia gave to her. This scene includes the trailer shot where Leia hugs Rey before she leaves. That planet in the trailer I imagine was D’Qar from TFA but it does look like Yavin so it was easy to recontextualize.

Despite it being the end of such an important era, I don’t have many specific hopes for this. I definitely want a good send off for Leia, and I want Keri Russell to get so angry that her eyelid veins come out, which I guess requires her character to show her face.

I was thrilled with the way they handled Luke’s story. I’m all about humanizing characters, especially if those characters have been viewed as perfect and flawless in the past.

I don’t think the quality in Star Wars and MCU movies is much different. If Star Wars were releasing 3-4 movies a year they’d have as much middling output, and Marvel’s best are at least close to as good as Star Wars’ best.

I think I enjoy Thor Ragnarok, Civil War and Infinity War more than any Star Wars movie, but the MCU probably won't stand the test of time like Star Wars will.

  10. I really liked Guardians 1 and 2 but since Chris Pratt is a turd now I have no interest in ever watching them again

Black Panther, Avengers 1, Ragnorok, and the two Guardians movies are great. I wouldn’t say as good as ANH or Empire, but at least close to TLJ.

But I’m in the small sliver of people who didn’t like TFA or Rogue One much at all.

I haven't liked any of the MCU movies more than "eh, it's okay," but to be clear, I haven't watched half of them for that very reason.

Star Wars is so much more beloved though I think, they survived the prequels and is back bigger than ever. I don't know if the audience would still be with the MCU after 3 prequel style bad movies in a row lol.

  21. Tier 8: Oh yeah they did make a second Ant Man movie.

  22. MCU has had like 30 movies with most being average to bad and Endgame will break every record imaginable. The audience is and will always be there.

    :tear: oh.

Well in that case then yeah, I think that's one of the best they have to offer so if that didn't do it for you, I would't bother with the others for sure.

And also live action remakes of their animated films. Just wait until they buy DC.
