Alright guys. I haven’t read a Star Wars book since the Thrawn trilogy a couple years ago. What are the best books to read outside the Timothy Zahn ones?

Thanks! Any order I should read them in? Or am I good to just pick one and start?

I’d start with Lost Stars, unless you want to get to know Holdo, Laura Dern’s TLJ character before seeing the movie, then do Leia first.

I agree with Leia, but if you have time before TLJ I also recommend bloodline. "Heddle reveals that 'some of the story ideas and elements in this novel came straight from Rian Johnson,' which suggests a close connection between whatever occurs in Episode 8 and the events of Bloodline.

and Pablo Hidalgo: "The disposition of the New Republic, its political factions and the napkin incident were pieces that came from Rian."

Also its just a fucking great story and gives you a good look into where Leia is at in her life right now
