Ok can it just be December 14th now? I need this NOW. I can't wait to see what Johnson has done with this. He is such a fantastic director.

Also it's gonna be so fun to see Hamill actually be Luke again

I'm actually a little surprised and proud (and amused obv) a couple people admitted they watched after some pseudo preachy posts some unexpecting users were met with a while back in here on the subject iirc

I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end it didn’t even matter.

Watch the trailers and you get in on the hype. It's more fun that way. Star Wars trailers are great so I don't blame anyone ha.

    That IMAX standee is cool/interesting.

My argument with the whole watching trailer and not watching trailers is look at the trailers for TFA and RO. A lot of the stuff in the trailers didn't appear in the actual film. Star Wars trailers are safe to watch because chances are it is full of footage that won't be in the film (I know footage from the trailers are in the movie as well). I'm just confident that they won't give anything away.

  15. I was worried when Rian said specifically not to watch that it would be very spoilery. Once that was cleared up, I was less worried.

I think the TFA trailer had me more excited tbh. I'm staying cautiously excited. Trailer left me with a lot of questions.

The music in the trailer ruled

Pretty sure they're loosely riffing on the Imperial March key while it's showing Rey and Luke train.....

    Pretty interesting...

Wonder if there's a lot of that in the new film. That's exciting. That the music has decades of plot identity attached to it now...Musical subversion. They could really pierce that bubble and more or less the whole audience would get got by it.

The way it's used here is like a "did they just...?"

I think if they do that, SW fans are gonna get fucked with in a way I don't think they've been before. I think the trailer already did that on its own with the aforementioned. I like that stuff. Maybe I'm the one who's got rn.

It wouldn't matter how good it was. There was no way it was going to get me as hyped as TFA. Especially after a 10 year drought, and 32 years since an actual good movie.

yeah TFA was a way different hype. I actually watched the TFA final trailer today and tbh it pales in comparison to how badass this one was.
