Same. I had assumed there was much more time between destruction of the temple and TFA. I always thought it was tied in with the time Rey was left on Jakku. Messes with a lot of theories I had held post TFA.

 

would be interesting to find out that Rey's abandonment on Jakku maybe had nothing to do with Luke/Snoke/Kylo, because it could have happened years before any of this, considering she looks like a young child in the flashback scene she has. Makes Rey's backstory and lineage even more interesting/murky.

Could it be the raw strength Luke speaks of seeing only once before could have been young Rey? Maybe would explain why she was left on Jakku.

Based on the timeline, I highly doubt Luke had anything to do with her being left there

 

Do we know what Luke was doing ~15 years prior to TFA besides training young Jedi? I haven't read many of the new books so I'm legit asking.

 

For what its worth I give that theory about a 5% chance of being true ha.

 

I was thinking...

the presumable woman who is with r2d2 as she watches the school burn may be holding a young Rey and that's why she walks like that, because she's carrying another person so the weight makes her tilt. Maybe it's then that they decide to send her away after seeing the threats a Jedi is faced with and wanting her to live a normal life non Jedi life? Or maybe it isn't Luke's decision, she's maybe completely unrelated to him but her mother wanted her to have Jedi training and he saves her from snoke?

 

Problem there is the timeline presented by Bloodline. Assuming what we're seeing is destruction of the Jedi school.

 

I think thats my favorite part of all of this, we're hashing out all these these theories and speculations and when we go see it we're gonna be like HAH we were so wrong.

Daisy said in an interview she loved reading all the fan theories ahead of TFA and laughing at how WAY OFF everything was.

Well she doesn't have to be related to him but her parents could have trained her to be a Jedi when she was much younger and maybe have lineage? The theory is that she's going to be his student, maybe he does initially teach her (separately from Kylo) just enough to remember how strong she was and why snoke might have wanted them both?

But the theory above makes no sense. Luke says he was NOT afraid of what he felt back then. Which means he would have been training her, not dropping her off on a planet to stay out of the way.

We know from Bloodline’s timeline that Rey is roughly 13-17 when Luke goes into hiding and is betrayed by Kylo. She is not there. She has been on Jakku for roughly 10 years at that point.

It just doesn’t line up at all and logically it fails.
