So, I watched that video and
I guess the shot of Luke escaping is from Jedi school? Which has to mean it was kylo ren who he references when he tells Rey that quote? Which means he realizes what's happened considering it's not clear if he has an idea of what's been going on since he fled to his island? Maybe? Unless he is referring to snoke like I thought and he fights snoke tooth and nail, still damages him badly but he escapes with ren? Idk

my thought was that the fire scene is the jedi temple burning, after luke's fight with snoke. I think snoke is who he is referencing when talking about the raw strength that didnt scare him initially, because he was luke skywalker who took down darth vader, who could stop him? snoke destroyed everything he knew and he was forced into exile, like Yoda, and now knows better. I think Snoke was deformed in his battle with Luke.

 

I don't think that's possible but if he was actually behind snoke that would be sick

 

There's pretty much been theories that Snoke is every character we've ever seen before. Sure they are fun but most of them hold no weight at all. But my favourite one is that Snoke is Chewy after a bit of man scaping.

 

yeah, I get that but wasn't kylo ren in Jedi school with Luke for awhile? Isn't that where he started and then snoke corrupted him?

Yeah, but wouldn't Kylo have been a child then? I have to assume Kylo and Rey are around the same age, and my feelings are that Rey was sent into hiding around the time that everything went to shit, so my feeling is that Snoke played more of a role in destroying the Jedi and Kylo sort of liked what he saw and followed suit, leaving the Jedi, leaving his parents, allowing himself to be "corrupted" and essentially turn to the dark side.

I wouldn't say he was a child, Han and Leia talk about how they argued about it for years so I'd say he was like 12-15 if not older? He wasn't super young at all though. Just guessing based on what most of those kids looked like when we saw them.

 

The book Bloodline (before Kylo turned) takes place 6 years before TFA, Kylo would have been early twenties. Feels a little retconned considering Han calls him a boy in TFA (unless it wasn't Kylo who destroyed the temple...)

 

I wonder if they'll consider bringing Han back in the next one since, you know... sad. Gotta hide that one deep if they do it though.

 

So there was far less time inbetween Kylo turning and the events of TFA than I had maybe assumed, so that would mean it's definitely possible that there was a battle between luke and kylo, leading to the destruction of the temple that we seem to be seeing in the trailer.....this is not helping the next 65 days move any quicker.
