I wonder if TLJ will sell out as fast as TFA did. It doesn’t seem like the marketing and hype has matched TFA yet.

I defend the prequels where I can, but yikes, so much of it is just baaad. Yeah RO can go just about anywhere - after 3 and before 7 might actually make the most sense, now that I think about it.

I think it will. TFA was a reintroduction of Star Wars to the public, don't think the same level of marketing hype is needed for TLJ.

I don't think anything can match that TFA hype, it was something I've honestly never experienced before, all the way up until the massive applause in my theater as "A long time ago..." came up on the screen.

I don't think this hype matches TFA, but it's definitely there and I definitely think these advanced pre-sales and opening night showings will sell out quickly.

During the opening crawl of TFA a guy came in late and just stood in front of me. I've never been in a fight in my life but that night I was close to murder! :crylaugh:

I do agree though, the hype was unreal - intensified by how positive initial reviews were as well. I'm possibly on the same hype level for TLJ, dying for more Luke Skywalker.

during TFA opening crawl I was so in awe/shock that I was finally experiencing what we waited almost 2 years for, that I actually didn't read all of it, it was like "omg shit i need to read this" as it was nearing the top of the screen, I didn't get to read the full crawl until the second time I saw it lol

I've already had people come in to the theater and bitch at me for not being able to sell tickets yet because "THEY SAID THEYRE ON SALE TODAY" but never said when (likely half time tonight?)

Blame Disney man, leave me alone.

yeah every ad I have seen has specifically mentioned tickets on sale during halftime tonight.

i'd go and put a sign up on your main entrance now haha

I haven't had a problem getting tickets for the last two years, I'm hoping it stays that way.

Worked at Subway in high school, a decade ago.

“What kind of cheese would you like?”

    “Yes.”

“I mean, what kind of cheese do you want on your sub?”

    “I said Yes!”

My joke about betting was me subtly saying that the computers at my work specifically say "these tickets go on sale Monday at 8:30pm" I was just trying to be coy for obvious work related reasons.

Every year I say "I will not be here for Star Wars" and this will be my third. It's just such easy part time work I can't fully give it up

I have never experienced, nor will I ever experienced again, anything like opening week of TFA. On opening night, our main auditorium which sat over 700 people was sold out and people were cheering when our welcome ad came on, people cheered when the lights went down, people cheered when “a long time ago” got on screen...the energy was palpable. Not only was it high energy but it was good energy, people were just happy to be there. It was pretty insane seeing the drop off on Rogue One, curious how TLJ will do.

I don't think I'll ever experience a cultural event on the scale of TFA again in my lifetime.

I felt like it was the same as when TPM came out, but with social media pushing it to greater heights.

700 Seats?! Holy shit that's a big theater. I've never been in a theater that big. Our biggest is less than 300

Yeah, it was an old theatre built in the 30’s. It was our main draw but we also had the standard cineplex.

Edit: like 450 seats on the bottom but there’s a balcony up top with like 250
