I vividly remember being so enthralled and on-board with TFA for the first viewing in theatres, for the first 20 minutes or so, then the moment the first Snoke scene hit i was like "uhhhhhhhhh i don't thiiiiink I like thisssssss"

If we get no information about who he is what a complete waste. I don’t need to see his high school transcript, but if they don’t at least bring up where the hell he came from then meh

I don't mind him since he's not some dark guy wearing black shrouded in dark darkness. He seems more opulent and into shiny things, which is something diff for SW I guess

I mean, was the Emperor any better in the OT at this point? He wasn’t even in a New Hope.

Both Kyle and Snoke have more character in TFA than Vader and Palpatine did in a New Hope.

If a character doesn't serve a purpose in a story, but does play a role in a trilogy, then yeah the Emperor not being in A New Hope at all is better than Snoke being present but doing anything/meaning absolutely nothing in TFA.

i honestly had no problem with Snoke in TFA, and was looking more forward to getting more of a backstory on him, but it just bothered me that his backstory and true form was obviously withheld in TFA but suddenly he can be released in toy form and ruin any kind of reveal that could have been set up nicely for what he actually looks like in TLJ.

I think Vader had good character, but you're probably right Kylo was more so.

Snoke served the purpose of being a larger force we don't know anything about yet, but we want to know. I appreciate the film not giving us all the answers but alluding and showing us there's more for us still to learn/unpack/find out as the movies progress. He also has so little screen time, and I think the scenes worked better than, for example, the MF/squid stuff.

I didn’t mean to imply Vader wasn’t a good character. He is great in that movie, but within that movie alone, he is a pretty straight forward bad guy and kind of a lapdog to Tarkin. It all works, but there isn’t much complexity there. Which is fine. Not a complaint, the focus was elsewhere.

But I think we learn way more about Kylo, and his fight against the temptation of the light is more intriguing than what we got from Vader in Hope. Then to see him kill his father and see his reaction of that he almost can’t even believe he did it himself. There is just a lot more going on and it’s why I love his character so much.

And agreed about Snoke. He filled his purpose. We will learn more, but his story was not the point of TFA. I’m sorry, I’ll probably be embarrassed when you say it, but what is MF? I’m blanking. The squid thing I assume is the theater scene in Sith?

Also, about “spoiling” his appearance... we saw Snoke in TFA. We have only learned that he has pink skin and a gold robe. What a huge reveal!

Oooooooooh haha I thought you were comparing Snoke’s stuff to Palpatine. Now I get it, and I agree again.

Also, if you are interested in learning a little bit about Laura Dern’s character, read the new Leia book.

Just curious, what are some of your favorite planets/least favorite planets in the series? I’m big on: Naboo, Kamino, Hoth, Coruscant. Dislike: Utapau, Takodana, Jakku

2hr 30min runtime has gone up on the movie ticket sites. Longest SW movie yet if true. Please be true.

I like all of the ones you mentioned outside of Jakku. That lizard Obi-Wan rode on Utapau is my spirit animal. RIP.

hard to dislike Takodana, we were there so briefly before it all went to shit, and FWIW I think Maz's bar had a cool Cantina vibe to it, I enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed Scarif, I imagine on the other side of that planet there was a real nice all inclusive resort.

    Wow that's long, interesting!

Anyone hoping for anything in particular from the new trailer? Wouldn't mind seeing some Laura Dern and Benicio. We might finally see Paige as well. I kinda hope they refrain from showing too much Luke/Rey, at least pls nothing following Ahch Tu. Rian did say to stop watching any more trailers/spots so I don't know if I should even watch it ha
