Christmas time is Star Wars time for me. I was hoping it would come out then anyway.

i think it's crazy that we're already almost 2 years removed from TFA. i remember that opening night like it was yesterday.

I was so jittery in the theater waiting for it to start.

I was thinking the other day how I'll never have that feeling again. Having waited years for new Star Wars after thinking I would never see a new Star Wars in theaters ever again. After having to live out the future of Star Wars thought the expanded universe and only really having it in my head. It wasn't the same. Then TFA... I almost cried when the opening theme started. I'll never have that feeling again, but I'll remember that day forever.

I sat in line in a freezing parking garage beneath the theater for like 10 hours on opening day lol. I plan on doing that again

Luckily I just showed up a bit early. Thankful for living in suburbs where it wasn't as busy.

The best thing about PM was all the Taco Bell promo stuff.

That was when I tried TBell for the first time.

I'm glad the film is releasing in December. Bringing back TFA feels with JJ directing it too. WW2 will probably move it's release as well. Releasing a week ahead of episode IX will definitely hurt WW2 box office in the long run.

wondering when we get final trailer & ticket sales.

for TFA they did it during a monday night football game in october. wonder if the same plan or something similar is in place yet.

I was eight when TPM came out haha. So I remember being really excited for it, but I had only been introduced to Star Wars a few years earlier when it was re-released in theaters prior to the prequels (96 or 97 I think) so there wasn't a huge build up. Of course, I was also eight, so I loved TPM at the time.

same, I saw Phantom the day I graduated 5th grade, and had seen all the re-releases in theaters the years prior which were my first real introductions to SW that I remember.

My mom took me to toys r us for the midnight release of the phantom menace toys. I don't even know how we knew about that. And it was a school night. My mom is okay after all haha

Exactly. Same here. I didn't have to wait years for new Star Wars. We knew it was coming in 99 at that time. So that wait from 3 to 7 was the only time that will happen for me. Disney will make sure I see one every year.

I was 2 when TPM came out. I think I the first Star Wars I even saw in theaters was Episode III (which I actually kind of like still even though it is largely flawed)

I like aspects of all the prequels. But they are garbage movies.

I don't remember seeing TPM although I know I saw it... I have the worst memory. Played podracing to death on N64 ha.
TFA opening night was the most fun I've ever had at the theater.

The release date move is interesting with Wonder Woman 2 being scheduled to come out the week before now. Gonna be the first major test for SW against another blockbuster film.

I trust JJ - it's nice that he gets to end the series after the reboot.

Phantom Menace came out when I was 15-16, and I would always call him "Jar-Jar Stinks," which would set my younger brother off, and he'd throw his toys at me. Fortunately, some of those toys were super-cool SW figurines like Maul and Lando, so well-worth the abuse.
