Kasdan is retiring from Star Wars after the Solo film.

Cool with JJ returning, really enjoyed TFA.

I'm not particularly excited over this, but I understand where Disney is coming from.

I think it had more to do with Johnson being busy with TLJ. JJ was probably choice #2

Meh. He was Affleck's guy for that movie. I mean, I have no way of knowing what he contributed to BVS, but I would hazard he helped make the Batfleck stuff what it was, which was primarily the best parts of the movie.

Johnson probably wants to take a break.

Definitely. I imagine that when he said he would love to do another Star Wars film, he meant years from now.

That could very well be. I mean, RJ could also just want a break after such a long filming experience. I'm sure it was exhausting. Maybe we will find out if he was ever approached.

If I remember correctly, him and Francis Ford Coppola saw an early cut of A New Hope and offered notes.

It is rumored he directed some part of a part of 3. Don't know if that will ever be verified or not.

I like quite a bit of Abrams' work, and I much prefer him over Colin, but with that being said:

    YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN.

I'm super happy with this. Loved TFA, and think he will have a bit more freedom from how off the wall I expect Rian to have taken Episode VIII.

Force Awakens is my favorite film of the seven, so I have no complaints. Would've been nice to see a more bold choice, but safe and conservative isn't the worst thing either.

TFA is probably 3rd for me. Honestly, and I've said this before, but if they had avoided turning Starkiller Base into a 3rd death star it would probably be my 2nd favorite.

Maybe it'll be something we haven't seen in one of these movies... TWO DEATH STARS AT ONCE!!!

I'd take it if it means we get Tom Hardy fighting Dunkirk style in an X-Wing.

Bleh. Well, it's better than Colin, but I just hope he's willing to take some risks, should he be allowed.

Haha I can go further into it later, but I think it's paced the best, easiest to follow, has the most humor, and I just have a blast every time I watch it. I really like all three of the original films, and don't mind III that much, but TFA is just the one that stands out to me the most.
