I'm also one of the few that would be slightly excited over a SW film directed by Clint Eastwood (I think he would be a great choice for a Boba Fett spinoff).

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Don't want Clint anywhere near any Star Wars movie at all

Scorsese is maybe the best I can think of at pacing a film and he's very pop oriented. I think that could be really cool.

A year or two ago I threw out his and Tarantinos names as guys that could probably do a great Star Wars film.

    That's my boy Charlie!

I agree on JJ. I loved TFA but I think JJ tried to change the movie too much at the very end. I feel like, in particular, the forceback from Maz's cantina will be increasingly difficult to integrate into the story and have it make sense. I feel like he just threw it in and was like, okay you guys figure it out now! Also, with the whole Phasma just de-activating the shields on Starkiller caused the storygroup to need to put out a whole novel justifying why she would act like that. (Phasma novel is basically Mad Max in Star Wars, it's great). I also feel like he filmed the entire TFA with Rey being Han and Leia's daughter then decided to change it in the last 3 months or so. Same type of thing he did with LOST. Do all this crazy crap but then have absolutely no idea how to follow through on any of it.

I *HIGHLY* doubt this. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the forceback ends up being pretty integral in Last Jedi, and was something that was planned out early on.

no pls. I don't wanna hear that obnoxious "BBWWWWAAAAAAAAA" sound effect he's used in every movie since Inception every time a villain comes on screen lol

I will definitely say that I hope you're right! Bloodline and the timeline established in it seemed to throw things off for me. I guess I just don't understand the nature of the forceback completely. I will be interested to see how it all fits together.

do you think his tone would fit the franchise?

  19. If he wanted to, of course. But trying too hard to ends up with a watered down version like we see in RO. Where it feels a tad off.

    Bloodline only clarified the timeline.

Do you think her force vision was all her own memories?

maybe I'm thinking too much of movies like inception, dark night, dunkirk where its very droney and layered.. I enjoy his scores but for some reason I couldn't see it fitting the more late romanticism/impressionism of the star wars universe. I think composers like Stravinsky, wagner, and tchaikovsky who Williams heavily borrowed from. But maybe it would be an interesting change of pace

  22. I think most modern composers borrow from those three ... heh, "The Firebird" is all over Zimmer's stuff. Think Lion King, Gladiator, Thin Red Line, or more recently, the Crown theme, more than TDK.

I think you are right, I forget how many movies hes actually done sometimes.. pretty much our generations Williams. pretty insane. I just pulled up the list and there were a lot that I hadn't realized

  24. That said I want Williams to do everything, cause I loves him.

  25. And I have become quite partial to Kevin Kiner's stylings as well.
