Literally every Star Wars podcast and video show talked about how Han dying was likely. His death should not have been surprising to any big fans.

To the casual movie goer? Maybe. I am so far removed from the casual movie goer for Star Wars, I can't honestly speak to that.

 

I'd love to see Chewbacca try to get back to domestic life

 

Honestly, he needs some revenge.

 

Kinda like John Wick, if it were the dog exacting revenge instead.

 

Chewie is more capable than a dog, but yes, exactly.

 

Would Chewie have it in him to kill his best friend's son, though? Kylo did kill Han but it's still his son and I think Chewie knows Han wouldn't want him to kill him.

I see your point. But he's pulled arms out of sockets for losing games of Dejarik. He already shot him... If only he had shot Kylo in the face.

 

I think Chewie intended to injury, but not kill Kylo on purpose. If he wanted to shoot him in the face then it would have.

 

The thought of Chewie going on a hellbent revenge streak is making me chuckle. Thanks everyone for that.

It's strange - out of all the characters I haven't spent any time thinking about Chewie's arc for the next film... yet in some ways, it could be the most interesting.

 

I'd wager his intent was to kill. 100%. His best friend, the person he owed his freedom to was just killed. Kylo killed Han in such a cowardly manner too. Chewbacca was pissed. I'd be too tbh.

 

You're in luck! I don't know if you heard but they're making this other cool new Star Wars film that should hopefully flesh out his backstory!

I actually meant in the upcoming film (Episode VIII) - I haven't considered what his arc will be in this film but in some ways it has the potential to be the most interesting.

 

I would fucking love an R rated Chewie stand alone where he's just tearing the arms off people and most of the dialogue is just his growls. Come on Disney, take this chance for me.

I think Chewie dying would upset way more than any other character to be honest.

 

I hope Kylo kills him.
