Didn't Rian say each character would basically be faced with a super tough decision? And that Mark Hamill fundamentally disagrees with Luke's character arc?

 

My theory is different than this but also involves Kylo being different than we expect in a key way in addition to something else haha

 

If that's true about Hamill... wow wow wow haha idk if that makes my idea more likely per se but maybe

I don't know if it was Luke's entire character arc that he disagreed with, I think he clarified that he disagreed with the actions Luke took, as if to say he didn't think Luke would have acted or thought the way he does. I don't think he actually took issue with the actual story.

 

I actually don't think this will happen tbh. My theory is more one specific plot point but if it were true it'd make it more likely that Kylo would eventually revert to the light side, or Rey turning to the dark side only temporarily perhaps. I don't like getting too into what happens after because my theory is mostly one key idea.

Theories should probably only be spoiler tagged if the theory is based on something not officially released. If it's based on stuff we have all seen, I think that is more than fair to just post.

Part of my theory is from the BTS. Why would Kylo be fighting a bunch of random dudes with sticks...possibly he's turned on the knights of ren.

 

Could be training? Or maybe his failure puts his leadership of them in question and he must prove his place again.

 

Kylo was only seen fighting two, right? i'd assume it was either just fighting practice in general, or Luke & Rey if it was a staged fight rehearsal.

 

I think it was 2, yea. So that's possible.

 

Maybe they filmed all these practice scenes to throw all us off.

 

Also dream sequences and stuff

 

These theories are making me excited. This could go many ways. December can't come soon enough.

 

If those old rumors about Luke's character arc and how Rey is trained are correct both light and dark side training, it's likely going to be extremely polarizing for fans.

 

Yeah I feel like this movie will split the fan base in half

I can't wait!

 

I know Rey used a staff and so did some of the guards that fought for GG, but it looked like during some of those practice duels that Rey was fighting guys using a double lightsaber? I could be wrong but that's what it looked like iirc.
