It's the equivalent of Betty White challenging Jeff Winger to defend himself with respect while she fires a crossbow at him.

I love what they’re doing and how involved Mark has been with Luke in the Disney+ shows. If they had someone else voicing Luke then I’d start to be annoyed.

  8. I think it's a tough job trying to satisfy the casual movie goer and the hardcore fans. You marvel people can correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the overall response to marvel films and shows is pretty positive by both casual watchers and more hardcore fans.

For whatever reason, star wars failed both sets of people with the sequel trilogy. Hardcore fans love TLJ, hate TROS. I think the more casual fan hated TLJ and at least liked TROS. So everyone loses because it's just not satisfying.

And I do think filoni is the best at giving both what they want. Not saying he should have been the overseer of the film trilogy but he's done a great job on the tv shows overall, despite the issues with boba Fett and maybe some of the mandalorian.

I feel like most hardcore fans and casual fans like TFA, but yeah I agree that the shows have been able to satisfy both sides pretty evenly.

  10. Someone else did voice Luke. A computer program.

I thought this whole time it was Mark’s voice. That’s pretty impressive but also why.

I have honestly never heard of a single person liking TROS. The rare movie filled with fan service that pleased nobody

Eh, at this point I’d rather not have to hear more about how Rian is ruining a franchise that was under threat of desecration by its own creator during the original trilogy. I’ll take more originals. Let the man make an original samurai/cowboy epic that happens to take place in the future past of space! That hasn’t been done yet, right

It's funny, we have a kid now and we were at B&N the other day and my wife saw a SW book for kids and she was like "would you get this for our daughter when she's older?" She was confused when I said no, she knows I love SW but every time she asks me if I would buy something SW related I usually say no.

I told her it's because SW has become such a contentious topic over the past several years that has revealed the absolute worst of its fanbase and every single piece of SW merch I own leads to the possibility that I might have to talk about it with someone if they bring it up, and I'm ok with not talking to like 95% of SW fans at this point. Like I wouldn't want a bumper sticker for the Rebel Alliance on my car because there's a high chance that any fan remarking on it might be one of these rage-filled nerds that have ruined the topic of discussion for me.

Maybe that's harsh, but you can blame the internet for it lol

Anecdotal, but all the toxic conversations about Star Wars i've had/seen have been online. Any talk about Star Wars i've had IRL has been simple and kinda like "yeah i liked this movie but did not like that movie. Whatever."

But also, once again, it's very anecdotal, as no one I'm friends with is a diehard star wars fan in the traditional sense. The biggest fans I'm friends with are pretty happy/ok with both the prequels and all the disney stuff

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

I like having Star Wars conversations with my friends because we disagree on minor things, and I’ve gotten one of my friends to come around drastically on TLJ. I had one friend who said he enjoyed TROS when he first saw it and now is like “I don’t know what I was thinking lol”. It can be fun.

but going to the Star Wars area of Hollywood Studios is an absolute must for any Star Wars fan. The layout is so immersive and everyone is just having a fantastic time.

I don’t think that’s harsh. I think it’s weird you reject things that may bring joy in the real world because of internet shit bags though. I’ve never had a toxic interaction with anyone about it in the real world. It’s always a fun discussion, even when we disagree. I find it odd to reject it due to online discourse.

but I mean, let’s be real, Star Wars doesn’t need your money or your active discussion of it. You’re hurting absolutely no one. So don’t take this as some huge judgment on you. I’m just a little bummed that the ugly vocal minority has tarnished it that much for you. I also get it because the discourse around The Last Jedi made me pull back from online discourse about it for awhile. But at some point I decided I should focus on what I love about the franchise and not what the morons who don’t even understand the movies say about them.

I just think fans have a choice to embrace art that we love and enjoy it or allow some dick bags to ruin it all for us. Even if those toxic assholes somehow pop up in the real world for us, we still have a choice to not engage and focus on what we love. A choice to feel free to share something that brought you joy with your loved ones. You might even say, we have “the choice to be better.”

may the force be with you, my friend.

Yep Star Wars land is a ton of fun. Rise of the Resistence is one of the best theme park rides i've ever been on, and I thought the cantina bar thing was so cool (amazing drinks and the weirdest but tastiest snacks ever).

And LOL i've seen anger over how star wars land doesn't honor the original trilogy enough. Does it really matter that much if the rides and theming are that good?
