Henry's post has me on a whim about to walk into my local shop offering Star Wars specials. I've had my mind on a fun patterned storm trooper helmet, let's see if I walk out with anything.

I never really understood dropping money on prints.

 

I don't like to spend more than like $15 on prints so I'm in the same boat here. I like a lot of the stuff Mondo or Bottleneck release, but I don't think I could ever spend that much on them.

 

Art is rad. They look amazing in person...also, blank walls are no fun ;). The Olly Moss set is the holy grail ha.

That Empire/Boba Fett poster is nice. I just want that Last Jedi poster though.

 

Not to ~attack~ you or anything but have you ever seen a 24x36 Mondo poster in person? Felt the quality of the paper and seen how detailed the printing methods are? These aren't just posters you get made at Staples. Not to mention all the work the artist put into it (in some cases like Olly Moss literally months)? $40-$50 for one is perfectly reasonable. The prices the reach on the secondary market can be extreme though, I'll give you that.

I should have specified that I largely buy 11x17 prints on fairly generic paper. Also, if people want to spend that kind of money on prints, that's totally fine by me. I don't think they need to change their pricing or anything either, it's just not an expense I could personally justify for myself. Largely because I have no job at the moment haha. So I by no means meant to knock them or the artists right to make money for their work. And no, I haven't seen any in person but I hear great things about them.

This was my first thought as well after just watching that Twitter clip. Can't wait for new John Williams, had the TFA CD in my car for a year and then some (had an old car ha).

 

Star Wars Episode 9 Changed After Carrie Fisher's Death, Kathleen Kennedy Says

Embedded in this article is the news that Trevorrow and his writing partner are writing Episode 9. Bad news for people who hated Jurassic World... (I haven't seen it)

 

I liked Jurassic World, but the writing was definitely flawed. On the bright side, they be working with already established characters rather than coming up with some themselves.

Also, all these articles keep saying that Leia won't appear at all, but Kathleen Kennedy has said that Carrie won't be appearing. Big difference.

 

They said they aren't doing CGing her if that's what yr implying

 

The article says "So while we have to say goodbye to Leia on the big screen in Star Wars: The Last Jedi...", which makes it sound like the character just flat out won't be in episode IX. Disney has never said that. They ruled out CG and old footage, but the possibility still remains for a recast.

Off topic question: do you guys think Lucasfilm will ever release original stories/characters outside the Star Wars universe and Indiana Jones?

 

Didn't they do one a few years ago? The animated movie Strange Magic? Maybe it wasn't Lucasfilm, but I'm pretty sure George had a hand in it somehow.

Wait. You think that there is a possibility that they would RECAST Princess Leia?

I'm pretty sure it goes without saying, but they would never in a million years do that for Episode IX. If she was going to be in the film at all, it would be The same CG they did for RO. They aren't using CG. So she won't be in the film.
