I think Bloodline confirms she didn’t know about Luke at all until Like tells her on Endor.

I mean I just think it’s poetic that he first kind of meets her through a projection and then he says goodbye through a projection.

Does anyone know if there have been any rumors of a “collector’s edition” blu ray being released this fall similar to the one for TFA?

They actually released the commentary with the initial release, so I don’t think it’ll happen.

I enjoyed Canto Bight except for how they got caught. So stupid.

The point is that they get caught for a stupid reason

I get that that's the point of that story, but I still don't enjoy the amount of time spent on it.

I get the point. It was a dumb point.

I didn't have time for a whole rewatch the other day, but I did manage to go back and watch the sequence in the very red throne room, and holy sh-t is that entire scene just absolutely gorgeous and majestic. One of the most glorious and beautiful things I can remember watching in a movie in a long, long time.

The only part of the movie that I could even see being considered at all boring would be the Canto Bight casino scenes and the chase, and only then because I personally don't care for those types of scenes at all and my mind usually just kinda checks out. That sequence feels very long to me even though I objectively know it's probably not that much screen-time in actual fact.

It's funny to me because I feel like sometimes filmmakers tend to insert those types of scenes to keep the excitement and energy levels up and it always kinda has the opposite effect on me. I would much rather watch interesting characters have a conversation. In fairness though, I know I tend to like long, slow movies. I remember absolutely loving the movie The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and telling my brother to watch it and afterwards he was like "What the hell did I do to you, man...?!? Why would you make me sit through that?!?"

Are you the one that said that was the best movie of the past 50 years?

That was me and I think the context of the conversation at the time was the last 20 or 30 years, but yeah, I still stand by that.

No, that wasn't me. I called it a masterpiece because I think it is, and I said its probably my 3rd favorite Star Wars film right now behind Empire and the original Star Wars, and that I could see it maybe someday being my 2nd favorite, but that I haven't seen it nearly as many times as the earlier ones. I think it's an absolutely incredible movie but I certainly don't think it is the greatest movie in the last 50 years.

The only Star Wars movie I would say would even be in the running for greatest movie in the last 50 years would be Empire, and even then it wouldn't be my pick. It would maybe make my Top 10 though.

She, but yep. The passion of that take stuck with me but I couldn’t remember the poster. You two should be friends! I almost never see anyone talk about that movie at all.

Also I loved Canto Bight just because of the fact that they greenlit a giant anti-capitalist sequence in a Disney Star Wars film and it makes me giggle.

Ugh, my bad, I always just assume he/him, sorry.

But yeah, I love that movie. It seems to get more recognition as the years go on. 2007 was a hell of a year for movies.

I don't remember saying that in regards to Assassination, but there's a chance I might have if I had just watched it. I absolutely love that film. Having not watched it in a little while, I don't think I would have it at #1 out of the last 50 years if I really sat down and tried to think about what my #1 would be, but catch me after having just watched it, or even better having just watched it while having a few martinis and then I'd be on here typing out a damn thesis on its magnificence.

Gave this another viewing last night (my 7th according to Letterboxd). Yeah, this gets better every time. A (nearly) perfect Star Wars movie.
