Having a lightsaber fight be the climax of every Star Wars movie was starting to be predictably boring. This one not having a "true" lightsaber battle was a fantastic breath of fresh air.

 

it's been a little bit since i've watched this. definitely putting it on sometime this weekend. maybe a TFA/TLJ double feature.

 

Man, if people just want the same shit over and over and over again, go watch the trilogy on repeat. I hate that shit.

 

That’s one of the things I love about TLJ, Rian didn’t feel the need to shoehorn in things that we remember from other Star Wars films, such as lightsaber fights. Anything that was a callback came organically from the story and characters

 

yeah honestly this whole movie felt like a breath of fresh air from everything we are used to/expecting.
